~Idaho student who reported crime refuses to cooperate further~
Police say they have no further leads on an alleged rape during
Apple Blossom Festival cruising, with the victim declining to
give further statements to police.

A 19-year-old college student from Idaho reported she was raped
in the 300 block of North Mission Street at 2:58 a.m. Sunday,
according to Wenatchee police. She told investigators a man she
met cruising pulled her into some bushes across from Wells Fargo
Bank.

The woman declined to give a written statement or go to the
hospital for tests, Wenatchee police Sgt. John Kruse said this
morning. She has not called police back or returned a form
investigators asked her to fill out.

"It's difficult to pursue a case without a victim's cooperation,"
Kruse said. No arrests have been made.

The alleged rape took place near a State Patrol trailer on
Whitman Way. The trailer, where police processed DUI
cases Friday and Saturday, was parked next to a Chelan
County catering bus that served food to law enforcement
officers both nights.

"Guys were coming in and out of there nonstop all night, but we
have no knowledge of it (the alleged rape)," trooper Rich Magnussen
said this morning.
