Here is a list of statistics and information on Apple Blossom
Festival incidents over the weekend that became available
Monday after deadline:
176 adults were booked into the Chelan County Regional
Justice Center, and 23 juveniles were booked into the Chelan
County Juvenile Center, said Phil Jans, director of juvenile services.
The Chelan County Sheriff's Office responded to 158
calls from noon Friday through Sunday. Sheriff Mike Harum
said 115 of the calls were festival- related and resulted in 105
traffic tickets, criminal citations or arrests.
State Patrol troopers said they contacted 1,779 people over the
weekend, resulting in 443 tickets for speeding and 94 tickets for
not wearing a seat belt. Ninety-one motorists were stopped for
aggressive driving, said trooper Rich Magnussen.
Troopers arrested 46 people for driving under the influence.
They arrested seven people, including juveniles, on suspicion
of felonies, he said.
Most of the sex offense citations and arrests by
Wenatchee police were for lewd conduct and indecent exposure.
Officers fired a Taser in two incidents on Sunday,
Wenatchee police Sgt. John Kruse said. The first, reported at
12:52 a.m. in the 600 block of North Wenatchee Avenue, was
after a foot pursuit, he said. The suspect was arrested on suspicion
of fourth-degree assault, he said.
The second, reported at 9:03 a.m., happened after police
responded to a man on the lawn at 20 S. Delaware Ave.,
Kruse said. The man was arrested on suspicion of criminal
trespass and possessing marijuana, he said.
Two people were arrested on suspicion of possessing butterfly
knives in separate incidents Saturday and Sunday. Another person
was arrested Sunday morning after police found brass knuckles.
Officers were called to a fight in the 100 block of Second Street
at 12:15 a.m. Sunday. One person was hospitalized with a head
wound. Two adults were arrested on suspicion of disorderly
conduct and one adult on suspicion of minor in possession of alcohol.
Kruse said two of the three are known gang members in Wenatchee.
He didn't know the condition of the victim.
Two 22-year-old twin sisters got into a fight with each other at
815 N. Wenatchee Ave. on Sunday morning. One of the sisters
was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.
The manager of the Economy Inn, 700 N. Wenatchee Ave.,
reported at 6:52 a.m. Sunday that someone was trying to assault
him, Kruse said. The person was removed from the hotel property.
No arrests and no injuries were reported, Kruse said.
