Just wanted to say hello. My name is Terry. I live in St. Louis City. I'm a lifelong Cardinals Fan but I have also been a supporter of the Grizzlies and Rascals since both teams have come on board. I love both of the ballparks. There isn't a better atmosphere to watch a ballgame than either of the two parks.

I was at the game Sunday night and noticed a building (2 stories) being built just beyond the left field wall. I was wondering what is being built so close to the ballpark?

Goooo Grizzlies. It was geat to be back at the ballpark last night even if the outcome was not as wanted. Tony only one suggestion. Tell the popcorn popper to put much much less salt on the finished product... thanks. Monty 108 g 1 2

Now there is a new name I had not hear before G Bear fan ? Ok I guess
it could be worst , I had always heard Grizzlie fan in the past , or
fans who get Grizzlie ! Were all fans of the grizzlies , and we even
got fans from New York ? Wow now thats a fan ! Yes I am ready for the
season , I attend about 45- 50 games and even go on a roadtrip or 2
each year also . The grizzlies are how I fill my summer memories and I
look foward to more postings here .
One possable reason is tradition. At one time all baseball parks
where set up to that a left handed pitcher was throwing with the
arms on the southside of his body. That is how the name southpaw
came about. I'm not sure of the directions at the stadium but a
lefthander may actually be pitching with the arm on the southwest
side of his body.
I hope what I wrote makes sense.

Sauget has about 250 people living in it, they are all G-Bear fans! It is south of East St. Louis, Il, no more than five miles. I have wondered why the park was built in a way so the view of downtown St. Louis and the Arch would be behind center field. Anyone know the reason why this was not done?
While it would make a great view, the hitters and/or fans on the first base side would be looking into the setting sun.

While I do live in New York, I am a Gateway Grizzlies fan, since I have been interested in the St. Louis Metro area for a long time. I understand that the Grizzlies ballpark is located in a town called Sauget. Isn't Sauget located just outside of East Saint Louis? From what I could gather, Sauget consists of the ballpark, some factories and the airport, but almost no residences.
The pictures of the ballpark seem to indicate that it's a great place to see a game.
In the meantime, go Grizzlies and good luck for a great 2006 season.

Jimmy Reiter is working for a company in New Orleans. And Ben is retiring. Not sure what he's doing.

Thanks!
Thanks to the programming skills of Stan Murray the Frontier League player stats database is now available in the "Players" section of www.flhistory.0catch.com. Search for any player, all the players on a team, or sort stats to find leaders in various caterories.
Also be sure to check out the "Interviews" section and read the interview with West Virginia Coal Sox manager George Brumfield.
Good news! Frontier League training camps open in three weeks! See you at the ballpark!

Sarge,
The "itch" so to speak will always be there, nothing ever felt
better than meeting my teammates in the middle of of the diamond
after a win-at any level I played at. I dont think I will get the
same feeling do any thing else. Thats okay with me though, I know
from my days in little league to BAC to my days spent in the minor
leagues to my final year with Gateway, I played the game the right
way to the best of my ability. I feel great looking back and my
career in playing baseball, and its something I will always take
pride in.

HI everybody , I want to say hello introduce myself to the discussion

on here I can . I have been reading much of this board for the past

Grizzlie nation relax. Understand that everyone is worked up due to
the discussion about players circumstances and moving on to the next
level. I will let everyone know that I play for Gateway because the
fans are amazing and it's convenient for my wife, kids, and me. My
only two goals are #1. To sign with an affiliate and #2. Win a
championship (to get the exposure to sign with an affiliate.) I am a
ball player in and out. It's my life. I coach it, instruct it, and
play it year round. It is serious business for my family and me.
Mark my words,"unless I get injured I will return to affiliated ball
with or without Gateway and succeed at it, knock on wood." Hopefully
with gateway though. Ben you are correct when you say many players
are not ready for the next level and the scout is correct when he
says many players want to just get their and thats it, but I have
been there twice and I have been preparing myself physically and
mentally to reach and stay at the major league level for the past 2
years. Last year was my comeback year to reaquiant myself with the
game, but this year everyone needs to lookout because it going down.
I pray that the rest of the players that sign with gateway take it as
serious as me. I learned alot from players on the team last year
especially Patterson and I look forward to helping lead this team to
a Championship in 06. Nothing else matters, NOTHING. To a Gateway
Championship in 06,(Cheers).
Ben, get at me in traffic.
C. Little
Hey Ben gotta alot talk going on by you. being that your hanging it up. I think your getting the itch to play again.
