But as we all know a contract as only a good as their Spring Training performance. During my Spring Training in 2002 I saw lots of contracted guys get cut. That had to have been one of the toughest try-outs I'd ever partisipated in.

We have signed four players, and have contract out to everyone else. We are approaching our season a little differently this year. We had Pete in Florida scouting a tryout camp and we were the only FL team there. There were a lot of good players. He will be at another camp in Arizona next week.
The Grizzlies announced Wednesday that tickets are on sale for the second annual Joe Buck All-Star Game benefitting St. Louis Children's Hospital.
This year's game will be played Saturday May 6 at GMC Stadium. Joe Buck will headline the cast of local celebrities and athletes as they battle it out on the field. All proceeds will go to St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Tickets are $ 15.00 for box and bleacher seats. General admission tickets are $ 10.00. Tickets are available by calling the Grizzlies office at 618-337-3000 or visiting GMC Stadium in person.
Fans may pick up a $ 5.00 off coupon at area Johnny Mac's sporting goods stores. Coupons must be redeemed in person at GMC Stadium.
Along with the Joe Buck game, tickets have also gone on sale for the Southern Illinois University-Carbondale vs. Saint Louis University game.
For the fifth straight year, the two teams will carry on their rivalry in the friendly confines of GMC Stadium in a wood bat classic.
The game will take place on Wednesday, April 26th at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for the event are $ 8.00 for box seats, $ 7.00 for bleacher seating, and $ 5.00 for general admission. Party suites and group outings to the event are also available.
I've recently added some new features to my Frontier League history site that I'm really excited about:
Record holders for each team, accessible by clicking the trophy icon at the top of each team's page.
Season and career top ten stat leaders, in the "Players" section.
Three new interviews:
Billy Emerson, a pitcher for the Newark Buffalos in 1994, sheds some light on one of the league's early teams.
John Poss, a three-time all star third baseman who was one of the fist players to play five season in the Frontier League.
Scott Pinoni, first baseman for Chillicothe for three years. He was an all-star and led the Paints to the playoff finals all three seasons.
Thanks for visiting the site. I'm looking forward to the 2006 season, seeing the new parks in Rockford and Traverse City and finally getitng to a game at Falconi Field in
Washington.

We have sent him an option letter as we did for everybody on last years team. As of right now we have only signed one player. Now that option letters are finished we will start signing players.

Sarge,
Sorry I havent gotten back to you sooner, but these winter camps are
LONG! 830-1030, 1100-1, 130-330 everyday for six days...Was that a
trick question? I would like very much to see your face 60' 6" away
again. Stay healthy, dont run and break your foot again and it can
happen! I was glad to read that you have gotten at least a call or
two for affliated spring training, even if you didnt make a squad it
would provide a great place to get ready for our season. I cant say
that I have had the same luck, wich is fine with me! I love playing my
home games 20 minutes from where I grew up. Theres nothing like goin
deep with making 5000 your HOMEtown fans stand and shout.
Benji
Bergy,
Well Ive had some teams contact me about going to Spring Training.
Still waiting on the Grizzlies to see what there intensions are. I
know affliated ball would be the way to go, but im still young and
one more year with Danny wouldnt be a bad Idea. Plus all the Teams
I talked with are only giving me a spring Training invite, no
definate spot on any roster. so we will see, but Gateway would be
my first choice aside from affilated. Thanks for your concern
though.

Haven't talked to Szczur in a month or so. I think he
would welcome a trip back to STL. He certainly
enjoyed himself at my house all last summer.

I think Bo's too old. I would think that the Cardinals released to help him try to latch on with another club somewhere. How old is he anyway...I thought about 28...maybe not.

Well other than Bo Hart I think we have a very good chance
of things looking like this. Pete is working very hard
with the coaching staff to start signing these players. I
can tell you option letters are going out now with
contracts to follow.
Merry Christmas!
