Good morning Grizzlies fans:

The Gateway Grizzlies are planning to assist in the relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Katrina

The Grizzlies will donate half of any tickets sold on Thursday, September 1st from 8:30 a.m. until the fifth inning of their game against the Kalamazoo Kings. The funds raised will go to the American Red Cross-Katrina Relief Fund.

“We want to help the victims of the hurricane”, said General Manager Tony Funderburg. “We want to make it easy for the St. Louis Community to help out in the relief efforts”.

Each member of the Grizzlies staff will donate their salary for Thursday to the efforts.

“We hope that other St. Louis sports franchises pick up on this, along with other sports franchises across the country. We’ve already challenged other teams in the Frontier League to match this effort”, said Funderburg.

The Grizzlies start the most crucial series of the season tonight as they take on Kalamazoo in a double-header starting at 5:35 p.m. The two teams will meet four times in the next three days.

Tonight is Tribout's Carnival Bingo Supplies Team Poster Night. Thursday is Belleville News Democrat Dress a Kid Night (Hats for Kids 15-Under), and Friday will be TP the Ballpark, Tribout's carnival rides, and fireworks after the game.

The Grizzlies are proud to announce that the Director of Groups Sales, Jason Roeslein has accepted a job with the St. Louis Blues. Jason will work with the Grizzlies until the season ends.

Playoff tickets will go on sale Saturday to season ticket holders, pending the outcome of this series with Kalamazoo.

Until next time, GO GRIZZLIES!!!

Yes, Brandon retired after playing one game with the Mavs. We

He did retire.   He seemed so laid back...kinda Todd Zeile-ish...if you know what I mean.   (Couldn't tell if he cared or not at times).

It's amazing what you can do when you throw strikes...Earlier in the year...good offense...good defense...good pitching...just couldn't throw strikes.   Now the pitchers are throwing strikes and the offense and defense is kicking in...good things happen when your pitchers throw strikes...bottom line.

Good morning Grizzlies fans:

The Grizzlies have been on a roll lately and have moved themselves even closer to a playoff spot as the season winds down.

The team hit the .500 mark Tuesday night as they defeated the Mid-Missouri Mavericks 10-3 and evened their record to 40-40. This is the first time all season that the Grizzlies have had an even record.

The Grizzlies finish off a six game home stand tonight as they take on the Mavericks in the series finale at 7:05 p.m. It is Blue Bunny Jimmy Reiter Poster night. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive the poster.

The team will hit the road to Rockford Thursday to take on the RiverHawks in a crucial five game, three-day series. The two teams will play doubleheaders Thursday and Friday and a single nine-inning game on Saturday.

Gateway returns home on Sunday for their final regular season home stand. They will take on the Windy City ThunderBolts for three games then the Kalamazoo Kings for four games in three days. August 31 will be a doubleheader starting at 5:35 p.m.

Although the Grizzlies have not solidified a playoff spot, they will still put playoff tickets on sale next week. Check our website, www.gatewaygrizzlies.com or your email for a special newsletter letting you know when they will go on sale.

Are you interested in renewing your season tickets for the 2005 season? If so, fill out the form that you should have received in the mail and return it back to us. If you are a full season ticket holder and you return your renewal, paid in full by September 21st, you will receive $ 25 back on your VIP card. If you are a half season ticket holder and you return your renewal paid in full by September 21st, you will receive $ 10 back on your VIP card.
If you choose not to pay in full by September 21st, fifty percent must be paid by December 1st and full payment must be received by March 1, 2006.

Until next time, GO GRIZZLIES!!!

Good morning Grizzlies fans:

As many of you know, the Grizzlies were washed out on Saturday and Sunday, causing them to lose the ever so very important home field advantage against the Rockford RiverHawks. Because of the rain, the two teams will be forced to play five games in three days when they visit Rockford on August 25-27.

Fans who came to the games on Saturday and Sunday can bring their ticket to the Grizzlies ticket office and exchange them for a future date in the 2005 season.

The team returns home Friday for a start of a six game home stand. Friday through Sunday they take on the Florence Freedom followed by the Mid-Missouri Mavericks Monday through Wednesday.

Friday will be Budweiser Can Coolie Giveaway (Adults 21 over), Saturday is Success Promotions Grizzlies Keychain Giveaway, and Sunday will be Old National Baseball Card Giveaway, St. Louis Post-Dispatch Family Day, CaTay’s Critters Petting Zoo, 6 for 6 night, and Scott Credit Union Kids Run the Bases. Monday is Belleville News Democrat Dress a Kid Night (Mini Bat Kids 15-under), Tuesday will be Pepsi Retro Ball Set ( 1980’s) – Time Warp Tuesday, and Wednesday is Blue Bunny Jimmy Reiter Poster Giveaway.

As the Grizzlies celebrate the 80’s on Tuesday, we are proud to announce that Whitey Herzog will be joining us. Herzog will be signing autographs on the concourse during the pre-game ceremonies and for part of the game.

Did you miss one of our games this season and still have your tickets? Wednesday, August 31st will be the designated game to use your tickets. The Grizzlies will take on the Kalamazoo Kings in a double-header starting at 5:35 p.m. Bring your unused tickets to the office and we will swap them out for you.

Until next time, GO GRIZZLIES!!!

Good morning Grizzlies fans:

The Grizzlies will be returning home today as they start a six game home stand. The Ohio Valley Red Coats are in town until Friday. Following that series, the Evansville Otters will make their visit to GMC Stadium. All game times are set for 7:05 p.m., except for Sunday, which will be a 6:05 p.m. start time.

The Grizzlies have an exciting promotion schedule for the upcoming series. Wednesday will be Touchette Regional Hospital Hat Giveaway along with the Simpson’s Returning to the Ballpark presented by Slackers CD Games. Thursday will be Bob Brockland Pontiac Buick GMC Stadium Model Giveaway. Friday will feature Budweiser Can Coolie Giveaway (Adults 21 and over), Family Happy Hour, and Cinco de Augusto (The Grizzlies version of Cinco de Mayo). Saturday is GCS Pennant Night while Sunday is the St. Louis Post Dispatch Family Day, featuring carnival ride from Tribout’s, St. Louis Post-Dispatch 6 for 6, Scott Credit Union Kids Run the Bases and Izzy’s Pack Event. Lastly, Monday is the Belleville News Democrat Dress a Kid Night, batting gloves will be given out to kids 15 and under.

Friday night, the Grizzlies staff will have a salute to their employees to have put in five years of service. Numerous employees from players to game day staffers will be honored.

Saturday, we have a salute to our groundskeeper Craig Kuhl. Kuhl has brought home the groundskeeper of the year award for the past three seasons. The Grizzlies will honor him with taking care of his field, throwing him a John Deere “Gator” Parade, and Craig will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Sunday, the staff will have a salute to our golf tournament that we previously held Monday at Arlington Golf Club in Granite City. We will present our Children’s Charities each with a check with the money raised from Monday. Three charities are Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Family Hospice of Southern Illinois, and St. Louis Sports Commission/Sports for Kids.

Tickets are still available for all of the games in the home stand. You can either order them over the phone at (618) 337-3000, online at www.gatewaygrizzlies.com, or stop by the stadium.

Until next time, GO GRIZZLIES!!!
