Are you more concerned about the lack of money that the players or the amount of money that the organization is making?

As a season ticketholder since the stadium opened...and a parent of a former player...most of the players that compete in the league are just happy to be getting a chance to play. The minimum salary for an affiliated team is just $1,150. It goes up $100 every year of service. The better players in the league make the higher salaries as it should be. Joe is hardly out of line and the Grizzlies are NOT making that much money. They do have expenses and salaries. As far as players working...My son was in the league for 4 years and never saw that happen. It's a bit of a strain...but with good family support they'll be ok. If they can't make it and they struggle... they know it's time to give up their dream and get on with life. As far as we're concerned...we were very thankful for the opportunity that the Grizzlies and the Frontier league provided.

the league max be higher than only $1200 per month?? Not just the
grizzlie players, but all of the players in the league are being
treated unfairly. I have heard, some players have side jobs but are
still expected to be at the park from 3 til 10pm?!!Lets say for
instance that everyone on the team makes $1200/month. Thats $600
every 2 weeks, before taxes. After taxes it is probably much
closerto the $450 every 2 weeks. Now thats just the players who
make the league max...from what I've heard, none of the 2005
grizzlies where paid the league max! At a job that your required to
be present pretty much 8 hours a day/ 7 days a week/ the ENTIRE
SUMMER. Joe @ $450 every 2 weeks, your right $4 an hour is pretty
fair. I wonder if you would trade your salary during the summer with
one of the players and think that its fair. But the league gets
around the minnmum wage laws, by paying them for 1 hour of work per
day, the games alone are (ecspcially last year) 3 hours! As a
season ticket holder the last 2 years, I know that the grizzlies
have there hands tied, but if the league would increase the salary
limits teams would get better players also. Joe I love listening to
you on the radio, but supporting the fact that the players on the
teams are being treated fairly, you have lost credibility in mine
and others eyes. Your closer to these players than even us season
ticket holders could ever dream to be If you wont defend them, who
will I wonder? There is no Union for these 50 guys on the field.
With gas prices as high as they are I wonder how many of th 06'
Grizzlies will be able to afford to drive to the field and eat
dinner in the same day!- Anonymous disturbed Fan
