GRIZZLIES ARE ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR
The Frontier League has announced that the Gateway Grizzlies have been named as
the 2003 FL Organization of the Year. The award is a result of voting by the
league's organizations.
The Grizzlies drew a league record 168,067 fans through 42 home dates in 2003.
They are hte first team in league history to average more than 4,000 fans a game
for a season. Their average is 4,002.
Tony Funderburg, the team's General Manager, was named league Executive of the
Year, while Craig Kuhl was awarded the Groundskeeper of the Year, for the second
straight year.
Secondbaseman Tony Coyne was named to the post-season All-Star team.
