Cost of the class is 20 dollars for 4 weeks of instuction & includes 4
free public sessions.All that is required is a bike helmet and skates
(Quad or Inline).

The Beginers speed skating class will be on Mondays from 6:00 to 6:45.

GSW Racing has recieved the club charter. The number is OR024S. This
is the first time in a while that Oregon has had more than 1 speed
club. Another mile stone in the club history. Our meet has been moved
to March, the weekend of the 15th & 16th.

We will be having our season opening meeting at Gresham Skate World on
Sep. 6th @ 6 pm. We will be going over the club rules & guidelines &
answering any questions that you may have. Looking forward to seeing
you there.

This is to let everyone know that GSW Racing will have our first
meeting on SEP 6th @ 6pm. We will meet at Gresham Skate world and meet
somewhere near by. The First practice will be on Monday the 10th @ 6 Pm.
The first 45 minutes will be class time (when there is skaters for the
class) and the rest of the time will be club practice. I look forward
to the 1st season together.

Another milestone for GSW Racing. We have our practice times locked in
for this coming season. The times are Monday from 6 to 8 pm & Thursday
from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.

The summer class schedule will be every Sat. from 11:30 Am to 12:30 pm
and will run through the summer for anyone who wants to get a early
start for the next season.

The Saturday class has been changed to 10:30Am & goes to 11:30Am.

Another milestone for GSW Racing. We will be hosting a meet next season
in February 2008. So things are moving right along.

The class start time has been changed from 9am to 10am and will run to
11 oclock.

I am happy to annouce that GSW Racing is now a official non-profit
as of April. This means any donations will be tax deductable.
We will also be able to recieve grants. So any finacial help that you
can give will be appreciated.The club has it's own bank account and
now has a place to put future donations. So we are one step closer to
becoming a official club by next season.

skating class from 7:30 to 9:30 pm @ Gresham Skate World. This will be
for anyone who wants to get faster and learn more about roller speed
skating, also for anyone who wants to get in some extra skate time.

The Rest of the Story:

If you're not familiar with Athens-to-Atlanta: it's a road skate in
Atlanta every autumn… with 38, 52.4 & 87 mile options – good friends,
great camaraderie (and superb challenges and competition) – over miles
of Georgia's hilly countryside as well as very-urban Atlanta.  This is
some of the best road skating anywhere, with skaters from all over the
world – from recreational/fitness to pro teams... anything goes,
mainly fun.

Skaters have included Chad Hedrick, Derek Downing, Eddy Matzger
(eight-time 87-mile winner) and Jono Gorman (current course record
holder for the 38-mile and 87-mile events, and now training for the
2010 Olympics in Milwaukee), three-time winner Kim Perkins, Barrie
Hartman – and thousands of others, from a nine-year old female winner
of the 38-mile, to skaters in their 70s that have completed the
87-mile event with very respectable finish times.

A2A may be adding some a shorter distances to the event next year:
we'll keep everyone posted –  watch the website at http://a2a.net … or
stay tuned to the new MySpace pages or YahooGroup.

Athens-to-Atlanta: The World's Greatest Roadskate

The begining speed class for Gresham Skate World has begun. Every
Saturday from 9 to 10 Am. Come learn the basics of speed skating.
Possibly in December an intermediate/advanced class will start up.
Just 50 dollars every four weeks and that includes four free sessions.
