Jack Brooks Trail Work Party - Saturday, June 5th

There will be a trail work party at Jack Brooks park this Saturday starting at
10:30 a.m. Work is to include trail repairs and bridge construction/repair.
Please bring shovels, gloves, etc. Get started on your PayDirt EARLY!

GROUP RIDE - Saturday, June 12th at Double Lake

GHORBA will be hosting a group ride at Double Lake Recreation Area on Saturday,
June 12th from 9:00 a.m. until noonish or 1:00 p.m.. This is a great trail for
beginners or people looking for some good speed and sloping trails. We
typically ride then head over to the local burger place for some good grub and
shakes. Double Lake is located in Cold Spring in the Sam Houston National
Forest. Directions: Take 59 north to Cleveland. Exit FM2025 and head
northwest. You will drive approximately 16 miles. Look for the park entrance
on your right across from the BBQ place with the smoking gun BBQ pit. Once past
the ranger station, take a left and follow it to the end of the road.


Riding Skills Clinic- Saturday, June 19th

GHORBA is hosting another riding clinic for beginners through expert at Memorial
Park. The clinic will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at about 3:00 p.m. The
cost is $20 for GHORBA members and $25 for non-members...the online sign-up
through PayPal is on the front page of the GHORBA website. The cost covers park
permit requirements, insurance, and tasty snacks. The classes are tailored to
all riding levels and will challenge everyone to improve his/her skills. We hope
you will make plans to attend or share this opportunity with friends. There will
also be several area bike shops on hand to answer bike maintenance questions and
assist you with minor problems! Please plan to arrive about 20-30 minutes early
to get signed in and your bike situated.

June 14th Meeting to be held at Memorial Park

Plan to attend the next GHORBA meeting on Monday, June 14. We will meet at
Memorial Park at 7pm at the soccer lot- look for the GHORBA banner and new tent.
After a short general meeting, Bay Area Schwinn will be discussing bike
maintenance. They are also bringing some great bikes(Gary Fisher CAKE,
Specialized Epic, Giant NSR) for you to demo (bring your helmet!).
