SAINT ARNOLDS BREWERY ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 11TH from 6:30 to 8:30. Cost is
$7/person for food. Come celebrate a year's worth of incredible accomplishments
by Houston cycling community, and share some holiday cheer and pretty darn good
beverages with old friends and new ones. We will present awards to the many
folks who have given hours of their time to trail maintenance, kids' programs,
races, and other fine endeavors. We will also have new GHORBA hats for sale!!
Directions:
From West 610 Loop:
Exit 290 at Antoine/34th Street. Make a U-turn under the freeway and take the
feeder road southeast for 1/4 mile. Then turn right on Mitchelldale. Take the
second left onto Fairway Park Drive. The Brewery is 150 yards down Fairway Park
Drive on the left.
From 290 coming in toward town:
Exit 290 at Antoine/34th Street. Follow the feeder road past Antoine, past 34th
Street and continue a quarter-mile further. Then turn right on Mitchelldale.
Take the second left onto Fairway Park Drive. The Brewery is 150 yards down
Fairway Park Drive on the left.
3RD ANNUAL CHRISTMAS LIGHTS RIDE: GHORBA will be hosting its annual Christmas
Lights ride benefitting the Houston Police Department's Blue Santa Program on
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 18TH. The ride will begin at 7:00 p.m. leaving from the River
Oaks Shopping Center/Kroger parking lot on West Gray between Shepherd and Waugh
(just west of downtown). A donation of $5 and use of a helmet and a red blinking
light are all required to participate. The ride will be approximately 10 miles
long at a very leisurely pace. Families are most welcome. Maps will be provided,
and we will have SAG support.
WE NEED RIDE LEADERS FOR THE LIGHTS RIDE!!!! Requirements to lead the ride
are minimal (ensure safe crossing of streets, keep the pace reasonably slow, and
ensure the group follows the map). Please email me if you are interested.
