Minutes from the Greather Houston Off Road Biking Association Meeting Monday,
November 10, 2003 at Otto's BBQ.

Treasurer's report - Mike Lutomski: After the race we are in great shape
financially. GHORBA made $6,200 profit on the Houston Big Ring Challenge.

Jack Brooks Report - Coby James: The 1st Annual Jack Brooks Renegade Race was
a huge success. They had 39 riders in attendance and made $350 to put towards
the trails. The trails are in great shape and if you haven't been there in a
while, go check it out.

Double Lake/Houston Big Ring Challenge TMBRA Race - Keith Porter: A big thank
you to all of the volunteers that helped to make this happen. Thanks also to
Scott Schaeffer for his assistance and guidance. GHORBA and Keith pulled off a
great race with no major complaints from any of the racers. We were lucky to
have 410 racers participate despite the threat of rain. Imagine the turnout if
we would have had perfect weather! The Forest Service and Park management were
very pleased with how the weekend went and are more than willing to have us back
again! We got the OK to build an additional 7 miles of new trails at Double
Lake - Way to go Keith!!!

Andy Namdarian of Houston was the winner of the Jamis XLT 1.0 that we raffled
off. Congrats Andy and thanks again to Cyclone Cycles for donating the bike.

We will be having a ride and cookout for all of you that helped with the trail
work and race.....watch for more details soon.

Mark your calanders for the 2nd Annual Fat Tire Festival to be held at Double
Lake on March 27 & 28, 2004.

Kelly Strader has been hard at work developing a relationship with the folks at
Stephen F. Austin State Park in San Felipe (just this side of Sealy) and they
have given the go ahead for us to develope mountain bike trails! Before the
trails can be built they want us to build a foot traffic trail that will take
pedestrians off of the roads. After that is accomplished we can begin to build
mountain bike trails. Kelly has been in contact with CenterPoint Energy and
CEMEX who are each willing to donate materials. This location has been
approved for Paydirt points for the TMBRA racers and there will be work parties
scheduled there in the very near future. Great job, Trail Czar!

Memorial Park - Brian Thigpen: Alot was accomplished with the last work party.
A work party is being planned for sometime in December.
There is grant money that the city receved that must be used for NEW trail
development. Ghorba is hoping to have some imput as to how and where this money
is used.

Hill at Simms Bayou - GHORBA will be involved with the trail design at this
location. Ground breaking was to have started in January of 2004, Jeff Neilson
will look into a report that some construction may have already started there.

Scott Schaeffer also took an opportunity to praise and thank all of the
volunteers who helped to make the race a success. He also threw out a
challenge to all GHORBA members to take the opportunity to get involved with the
NORBA National Race that will be held in Waco, March of 2004. A volunteer
coodinator will soon be appointed. More information can be found on the
website. http://www.texasnorbanational.com/

GHORBA Christmas Party will be held on Thursday, December 11 at St. Arnold's
Brewery. $5 per person and your GHORBA membership should be current. Don't
miss a great time!

The GHORBA website has more information and a great forum
