OCT. 25-26TH: Houston Big Ring Challenge race at Double Lake Recreation Area.
Great race for first-timers! If you're not sure you'd like to race, come up on
Saturday, ride the course, BUY raffle tickets for the Jamis mountain bike, take
part in the free beginner riding clinic, then watch the little kids race. See
the GHORBA website for all of the details on camping, registration, start times,
sponsors, etc.
SATURDAY, NOV. 1ST: Jacks Brooks 1st Annual Rennegade Race! Time trial format,
$10 per lap, 3-lap maximum. Prizes for the best lap time. Proceeds benefits
the Jack Brooks trails and Galveston County Parks. No NORBA license required.

flyer. Haven't ridden at JB in a while?? Come see all of the tremendous work
that has been done down there by many area volunteers!
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 31st HALLOWEEN: Wanna see the freaks and ghouls of Halloween on
your bike? Bring your lights, helmet, a few $$, and your bike to Memorial Park
on Friday, October 31st. We'll leave the park between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. and see
the town and grab a bite to eat in downtown. Round trip will be about 15-20
miles. A second group of cyclists will head downtown starting at 10:00 (they
have trick-or-treaters at home) and ride into the evening. Keep your eyes out
for more announcements as we get closer to Halloween!
NOVEMBER GHORBA MEETING ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 10TH AT OTTO'S starting at 7:00 p.m.

Houston!!!
GHORBA/BIKEHOUSTON HOLIDAY PARTY THURSDAY DECEMBER 11TH AT SAINT ARNOLDS: Come
celebrate a great year of cycling and amazing volunteer accomplishments with
GHORBA and BikeHouston at the Saint Arnold Brewery off of 290. The party will
start at 6:30 and end at 8:30. The cost is $6 per person to cover food. Bring
your best crash story and a chance at winning some fun stuff. Last year we had
over 80 people come to the party. Will you be there this year??? Don't miss
out...mark your calendars!
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS RIDE THURSDAY, DECEMBER18TH: This year will be the 3rd annual
Christmas Lights Ride through River Oaks. The cost is $5 per person with
proceeds benefitting a local children's charity (will announce soon). We have
moved the start of the ride this year to the Kroger parking lot on West Gray to
reduce the number of major intersection crossings. Mark your calendars and
watch for announcements as we get closer.
FYI: Trail works parties are being planned for Memorial and other locations for
late November/ early December.
