GROUP RIDE AT HUNTSVILLE SUNDAY, AUG 3RD: There will be a few riders from NWCC
meeting out at Huntsville State Park at 9AM this Sunday. Several riders with the
Bikelane group will also be there to join in. Check out the new reroutes and
bridge work that has been completed by Richard, Jimm and other GHORBA
volunteers. Please keep in mind that the Lower Prairie Branch trail now is
closed to bike traffic and to go straight after the long boardwalk bridge - the
trail will not likely be part of the race course this year.

AUGUST MEETING, MONDAY THE 11TH: Come join us for our monthly meeting at Otto's
BBQ (located in the rear part of the building) at 7:00 p.m. We will talk about
the latest with Harris County Flood Control access opportunities, the Fall race,
results from the Huntsville Kid's Clinic, the Byke Project, etc. Our meetings
are very social and limited to about an hour. Come meet new people and add your
2 cents to the banter. Otto's is located on Memorial Drive just west of
Westcott Street across from Starbucks.

TERRAFIRM URBAN ADVENTURE RACE AUG 8-9TH: Teams of three will face a true urban
adventure as they paddle, run, bike, navigate and possibly even crawl above,

This race will start on the field during the National Anthem of the
Astros/padres game. You will proceed to checkpoints throughout the city
including a water ride at AstroWorld!

Categories: Solo, 2 Person Men, 2 Person Women, 2 Person Co-ed, 3 Person Open
Cost: $25 per person pre-reg by August 8th, 2003; $30 per person after that.

TRAIL WORK AT HUNTSVILLE PLANNED FOR LABOR DAY WEEKEND. Watch for additional
information coming soon. Richard and Jimm have received permission from TX
Parks and Wildlife to complete a major reroute on the trails and will need as
much help as they can get. This counts for PayDirt and GHORBA Trail Work
Awards, so please make plans to help if you're not racing at Kerrville that
weekend!!

MONDAY NIGHT RIDES AT MP: Monday night rides are still going on at 6:00 p.m.
every Monday evening at Memorial Park, weather permitting. Riders of all
abilities welcome!
