THANK YOU! Just wanted to thank everyone who helped with the work at Huntsville
and at Jack Brooks last weekend!! Trails all over Houston area are really
shaping up thanks to the people who dedicate their time and energy despite the
heat and mosquitos!

4TH of JULY RIDE: Interested in riding down to watch the fireworks downtown?
Last year we had about 25 people do this and had a great time! And it's much
easier to get in and out of the area by bike. Contact Keith if you're

ANNUAL RIDING CLINIC SATURDAY, JULY 12th: We will have our annual riding clinic
at Jack Brooks Park from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in two weeks. Check out the
website for pictures of last year's clinic. We will have instructors for both
beginners and advanced riders. $20 fee covers park permit (for GHORBA), food
and drinks, and event insurance. Proceeds will benefit the trails. The morning
will teach skills, and we will conclude the day with games and a group ride
through the much-improved trails at JB. We will have a five kid's bikes for
people who would like to take the clinic and to bring their children to learn
how to ride. There will also be several local bike shops on hand to assist with
basic maintenance on bikes (seat adjustment, flats) and to show all of their
latest wares. You can pay on line through the website or pay the day of the
event. Looking foward to a great day of learning, riding and having a great

We need people to help sign-up attendees, help with food service, help instruct
or take pictures.

DOUBLE LAKE WORK PARTY AND RIDE (TENTATIVE): No work has been done yet at
Double Lake. With the GHORBA race coming this fall, we're setting up a date to
do some trimming and small repair work for Saturday, July 26th at 9:00 a.m. In
the past, work takes about 2 hours with about 20 people. We will ride once
we're done. We usually have lunch at The Hop in Clear Springs (great burgers
and shakes!) afterwards, too. Keep your eyes on the calendar!

JULY GHORBA MEETING MONDAY, JULY 14th: The GHORBA meeting will be Monday, July
14th at Otto's on Memorial between Westcott and Detering Streets. We meet in
the back room. The meeting starts at 7:00, enough time to get in a lap at
Memorial then grab a bite at Otto's. Everyone is welcome!
