URBAN RIDE: It's a beautiful, wet day in the neighborhood and a perfect day to
do an Urban ride. Barring any rain at 6:00 tonight, we'll leave Memorial Park
at 6:15 (parking lot near soccer field on south sideof the park) and head
towards downtown. Come one, come all! Chances are good to eat somewhere
afterwards, too, so bring a little dough.

DASH 4 CASH: Westside Dash for Cash

Know the Westside of town?? Think you’re fast?? Just feel like riding?? Come on
out to the Westside of Houston for smacking good time! We will meet at the
parking lot on the NW corner of Kirkwood and Memorial. We will then have a nice
little 20ish mile jaunt around the west side of Houston racing for hordes of
cash and possibly some schwag. The route can be accomplished by mostly riding on
permeable trail surfaces, but some street riding is necessary. Put on your map
thinking caps and your knowledge of the west side of town.

There will be five official checkpoints that everyone must locate so that you
can ride to the next checkpoint. Hints will be given as to permeable route
selections. These may not be the fastest, but are always options. We will end up
at a small town favorite hot spot and chow down and swap stories of the ride, so
bring some food money.

This fun and tantalizing event involves riding your bike around the west side of
Houston to see the local flora and fanua, and if you are speedy/lucky enough you
may pick up some much needed cash for that next chi-chi bike part.

Entry fee is $10 with all proceeds going to help GHORBA build and maintain
trails in and around the Houston area.

Things you want to know and some people call rules:
One bike one ride


· Helmets that are rated by CSPS or other people qualified to rate helmets
(please no styrofoam ice chests).

· Mountain bikes are required, no cyclocross or road bikes. (Unicycles are also
allowed...sorry, Jerry!)

· Must sign a waiver.

· Must ride to all 5 checkpoints to receive clues for checkpoint locations and
finish.

· Must have all 5 written clues in hand to receive award. No clues, no cash.

· No 2-way radios permitted for riders - you’re on your own!
