BRIDGE: Richard wanted to thank everyone who came out this weekend to help
build the REI bridge at Huntsville. It looks awesome! It's final length
is 58'4", it is wide and strong enough to support a four-wheeler and
trailer, and it makes going over/through the wet sandy area a new
experience (and a good place to catch some air if you dare). Footers were
put in on Friday, and about 12 people came Saturday to cut boards, install
screws and bolts, and help pull up the old pallet bridges. Thanks to
everyone!!!!!

CLINIC: This Saturday morning 9:00 a.m. at Memorial Park near the trail
head. Helmets and signed waivers required. Come learn with us!! NO RAIN
ALLOWED!!!

ELECTIONS: I've heard a little more clarification is needed concerning
elections in March.

The President's position will not be responsible for dealing with much of
the political issues. GHORBA has several people who have been involved in
this effort for quite some time and who intend on continuing their active
involvement for the foreseeable future. This will be done through a
committee that the president will help oversee and use to learn about
everything. Sometimes people just aren't politically oriented and do
better at organizing volunteers and projects. If that's you, we have the
other things covered.

The Vice President of Trails position will help in our efforts to find and
build new venues. We have many prospects through county and private
interests that need to be pursued (i.e., site visits, some meetings, and
phone conversations with officials). You can usually find reliable
volunteers to assist you in site visits and attend meetings on occasion.
The maintenance issues are being handled very well by the trail stewards at
the various locations. The VP will just need to keep tabs on these efforts
and assist in making sure everyone has what they need (i.e., volunteers and
materials).

At-Large Position: Although this is an advisory position, it is somewhat
expected and hoped that this person will take on a project or two (whatever
interests you) to help lead or to assist other board members with his/her
projects. We have so many great things going on, but not always enough
people to take on everything we want to do.

We have several people interested in being secretary. Each person is very
qualified and would be wonderful to work with. We'd love to have each of
you involved no matter what capacity.

RACE: Congratulations to everyone who braved the cold and wind at Rocky
Hill yesterday!!! Houston did well once again!
