IMBA comes to town
-- The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) is about to
get a firsthand look at the current state of mountain biking in Houston.

IMBA officials arrive in town next Thursday for a 10-day visit to seek
solutions for removing the Bayou City from the organization's list of
worst mountain-biking cities in America.

IMBA has designated Houston as an "urban hot spot" in dire need of
additional mountain-biking access. A meeting with the Houston Parks
Board, Memorial Park Conservancy and the Parks and Recreation Department
to discuss the Memorial Park trails is one of the key items on the IMBA
agenda.

IMBA's assessment and recommendations concerning Memorial could be
critical to determining the fate of Memorial's south-side trails.
