GHORBA Meeting
November 11, 2002

Trail Work Updates:

Huntsville ? Paul Saverance ? Flood damage and work report. 17" of rain in
3 days. Many trees down, culverts washed out, bridges damaged. Estimated
bridge damage $1,500. Looking for means to assist park with cost of
repairs.
Ant Hills ? Mark Wise ? The Ant Hills Mosquito Habitat and Water Fun World
is still predominantly under water. Water to be let out of dam for two
more weeks. Work party scheduled for Saturday the 16th will look at damage
and repairs to eroded areas. Meet on Dairy Ashford at AT&T parking lot.
Will carpool to sites.
Memorial Park ? Russell Adams ? Work party scheduled for December 7th from
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm. Guaranteed to rain :)

Treasurer Report ? Paul Saverance ? Budget for remainder of 2002 and all of
2003 completed. Need estimates for specific projects so funding may be
obtained and cashflows tracked.

Memorial Park Trails Update ? No new information on master plan. Next
phase should come out in December or early January. Media has been great
over the last month: two stories in the Chronicle and a piece on Channel
11 ? all stories even-handed.

HCFC Connectivity Committee ? GHORBA representatives are meeting this
Thursday with Harris County Flood Control to determine the possibility of
linking existing parks to new prospects by unimproved paths along HCFC
easements. This may help reduce need for parking and trash facilities at
every park.

GHORBA & BikeHouston Holiday Celebration ? Chris Case ? St. Arnolds
Brewery, Monday, December 9th from 6:30 ? 9:30. Cost is $5/person to
assist with cost of food. We will also be inviting the bike shops who have
supported us. Trail work awards to be handed out at the party. How many
hours have you done? We will also have a bridge repair donation box at the
party.

IMBA Hot Spot Visit ? Looking for volunteers to help with planning of the
IMBA visit from January 10-19th. Meeting to be held on Wednesday, Nov.
20th to prepare schedule and organize volunteers. Location will be
announced. Need host homes (think we have three right now, but will look
at overall schedule to determine best availability) or a donation for an
evening at a motel (privacy is a good thing). Also need people to help
entertain (dinner or ride), organize specific events, participate in trail
maintenance clinic, assist with riding clinic. Sign-up sheet went around,
but please email Chris if you want to help.

Kroger Share Cards and Randalls Good Neighbor Program ? GHORBA is now on
both programs, which donate 1% of the proceeds from purchases at the
stores. At Kroger you must have them scan the card. At Randalls you must
program your Randalls card with #10247 at the Courtesy Desk. The money
collected will be put towards trail work items (food, IMBA manuals,
materials, and tools).

Group Ride at Double Lake ? Sunday, November 24th 9:00 a.m. to whenever.

Christmas Lights Ride II ? Thursday, December 19th 6:30 ? 8:30. Ride from
MP thru River Oaks to look at Christmas Lights. $5 donation, proceeds to
be given to the Clear Channel Santa Letters Program for disadvantaged
children.
