We also have the GHORBA monthly meeting on Monday, December 10th at
Spaghetti Western 7 pm near Shepherd and I-10. Bring your best crash story
(and scar)....we're giving prizes for the top two stories....as close as a
real Christmas party as we're going to have this year. Didn't think any of
you were up for a White Elephant gift exchange of broken bike parts. :)

"PAYDIRT" TRAIL WORK DAY AND RIDE AT DOUBLE LAKE RECREATION AREA
Sunday, 12/9 at 9am. Meet at the mountain bike trailhead.
Free day passes for trail work volunteers.

Three hours of work on maintaining rolling grade dips, face slappers and a
little bayou brick work. Clippers, shovels and heavy rakes will be the
tools
of the day.

After the trail work, we'll take a munchie break and then ride. We're also
planning on doing a short beginner rider clinic. Double Lake is the only
dedicated mtn bike trail on federal land in Texas and a great intro to mtn
biking. It is beginner friendly singletrack. For experienced riders, the
trail is a fun fast ride.

DIRECTIONS: 59 N to Cleveland, left on FM 2025. N for 17 miles. Right turn
into Dbl Lake. After the pay station, take a left and follow the paved road
until it ends.
