Frank and everyone,


let me address your good questions.


Yes! The trail repair expedition includes riding! I am working out a
schedule with Shawn, the Park Ranger who is sponsoring this event at Dino
Valley to alternate riding with trail work. We want to make this event as
much fun as possible while giving something back to the Parks that so
kindly host us MTBikers!


The trails out there are great and you'll have a great time riding! Last
time we were there, we all spent quite a bit of time pulling trick stunts
on this mound of dirt that at the end had more than just dirt into it -i.e.
blood, bike parts, skin, ripped clothing, etc.! And that is just the
beginning! :-)


Either or both Saturday and Sunday I am coordinating with DORBA (Dallas Off
Road Biking Association) a group ride in either or both Dino Valley and
Cleburne State Park. Considering we have groups from Austin, Houston and
Dallas, it will be a great opportunity to make new friends, see old racing
buddies and just have lots of fun in a great gathering of MTB people. :-)


Yes! We will need to bring our own tools. Shawn advised me that most of
the work will be of the tree trimming type. He suggested to bring hand
saws of different sizes and branch trimmers. Of course, shovels and axes
and anything of that sort is also good to have.


The park has some tools, but not enough for all of us. So, please make
sure you bring your own.


This event qualifies for paydirt points towards the 2002 TMBRA Spring
Season. If you want to earn credit, please visit the TMBRA web site and
download the form. I will bring a few extra, but you never know if I'll
have enough.

fun expedition. :-)

dedicated to trail clean up or will we have time for a ride afterward?
