Similar to the Houston Area Road Runners Association (HARRA) relationship
with the 15+ running clubs in Houston, HABA is exploring the possibility of
becoming an umbrella organization for the many cycling clubs and
oganizations in the Houston area. This format allows the cycling community
to band together on important issues, pursue the same strategies rather
working separately, leverage on the power of the 1,000s of riders involved
in all of the clubs, draw ideas from a larger group of people, give a voice
to smaller clubs on the city-wide issues, and more accurately represent the
needs and concerns of the cycling community as a whole. An umbrella
organization does not replace or displace clubs, but serves as a a central
voice and planning organization to supplement the strengths of the many
cycling groups. Please join us tonight to discuss this great new chapter
in Houston cycling advocacy!!
