Called Huntsville State Park and they said the park and trails "are open
every day no matter what". She said it's pretty wet with all of the rain.
The trails are pretty sandy and shouldn't be terribly muddy....we can ride
Sunday anyway, or reschedule for later this month maybe the 23rd or 24th.
Thoughts??

Ride Sunday, June 10th
GHORBA-ladies
GHORBA will be hosting a group ride for riders of all abilities on Sunday,
June 10th at 9:00 a.m. Directions are below. Please arrive early enough
to get your equipment set up so that the ride may begin at 9 a.m. That way
we can enjoy the "cooler" hours of the morning. Huntsville trails are
pretty easy - if you're a really good rider, come for the speed workout
(besides, it's usually part of the TMBRA Fall Series). If you're a
beginner, it's a great place to work on just getting comfortable with your
bike.
Directions
to
Huntsville State Park
From downtown Houston take I-45 north. The exit for the park is off of
I-45. You go through Conroe, Willis, and New Waverly. After the New
Waverly exit you will pass a roadside picnic area early in the morning will
have 18 wheelers and RV's parked there from over night. About five miles
from the picnic area is the exit to the park. There will be a large brown
exit sign with Huntsville State Park on it. Go to the stop sign turn left
and drive into the park.
If you have missed the park exit as you are driving north you will see a
very large white statue of Sam Houston on your right.. Go to the next exit
and turn back south to the park exit.
At the pay station in the park it will cost $3.00 per person. From the pay
station about 200 yards is the Interpretive Center, a small building on
your right. This is the trail head and you can park anywhere in front of
the building or on both sides of the road.
From downtown Houston it is about 75 miles.
