June will be a busy month for GHORBA - good busy. I have listed the events
we have planned for the month of June below. More information can be found
on the website - if the info isn't posted yet, give it a day and check
back.

- Group Ride - We will be hosting a group ride at Huntsville State Park
on Sunday, June 10th. The ride will begin at 9:00 am....please do not
arrive at 9:00, arrive early enough to get your equipment set up for a 9:00
am start. Directions to Huntsville State Park will be forthcoming.

- Bike Maintenance Class - GHORBA and Planetary Cycles are hosting the
first of two bike maintenance classes on Thursday, June 14th. The class
will be held at Planetary Cyles at 7 pm. More information can be found in
the Events section on the GHORBA website.

- June Meeting - GHORBA's June meeting will be at Jax Grill on Monday,
June 11th. The meeting will begin at 7 pm (pushing back the time for
summer hours and riding). Jax Grill is located between Shepherd and Durham
just south of I-10. We will discuss the latest with the Parks Dept,
Olympic Park grant, new trail opportunities around town, etc.

- Riding Class - We've found instructors for the next riding clinic,
however, we are moving it to July to allow for people to plan and for us to
advertise. More information will be coming soon.

Kids Riding Group - GHORBA is interested in starting a kids riding group
for kids aged 10-15. We have recently started a women's riding group and
have found it to be a great way for people to arrange rides among the group
through our group email. If you are interested in either group, please
email me back at ccase@.... Once we know the level of interest, we
will inform each person of the new email group address and how to contact
one another. Frank Rangel has offered to lead the group.

Lastly, I am extremely happy to report that GHORBA is now officially a
501c(3) non-profit organization!!!! This means that we can now accept
donations, and they will be tax-deductible for the donors (i.e., bike
shops, etc.). It also means we can now apply for grants from companies
like RocShox for tools, etc. And it also means that we can now bring in
money, in general, without having to pay federal income tax - before now,
we could not bring in more than $1,000 without having to pay corporate
income taxes. It's been a long process, and we are finally done!
