Rides for Memorial Weekend:

Commentary on the rides: Jack Brooks is similar to Memorial, but without
the big ravines....shorter inclines, but steeper. Fun place. Jack Brooks
is south of Clear Lake southwest of the dog track on 45. Directions can be
found on the GHORBA website. Comfort is a fairly difficult area to ride;
lots of rocks, sustained climbs, etc. Directions to Comfort, TX can be
found on the TMBRA site. Warda is about 1.5 hours northwest of Houston -
intermediate trails with a few borderline expert descents - may be crowded
(not like Memorial, though). See below if you are interested in any of
them.

Anyone up for some MTB riding at Galveston County's Jack Brooks Park this
weekend? I am in for Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. In case you
don't know - this course ain't flat, it ain't crowded, it's more technical
than anything this side of City Park, and it's very, very fun.

Respond by mail if you're in, or if you decide to ride at the last minute,

I sent this letter to all of you even though I know some of you won't make
it, in hopes that you'll at least spread the word that there's gonna be
some
Memorial Day fun at Jack Brooks. I know that Gail's taking a group to
Comfort Sat & Sun, and that the good doctor has a ranch to run (by the way
Doc, Busy Bee Gail's also bring a crew up to Warda Monday - I may make the
trek, too). But spread the word - I need someone to ride lead horse to eat
the banana spiders.

PS: Gail, please send the first two or three paragraphs out to the folks on
your NWCC list (feel free to edit), and have a fun and safe trip to
Comfort.
