The CIty of Houston, the Houston Bikeway Program, and the Houston Bicycle
Advisory Committee are sponsoring the Houston Ride to Work Day on Friday,
May 18th. The ride will start from Rice University and end at City Hall.
Mayor Brown and various council members will also be participating. Free
t-shirts will be given to all who participate and refeshments will be
served at the finish. The schedule of events is as follows:
- Cars parked at Rice University Exit 12 parking lot. Call (713) 729-9333
to register your car.
- 8:30 a.m. - Start ride
- 9:30 a.m. - Mayor Brown speaks and proclaims May 18th to be Ride to Work
Day
- Lunch hour bike rally at Heritage Park downtown. "Brown-bag by the
reflection pool at City Hall"....guess this means food? Free bike checks
provided by various local bike shops and safe rider tips given by the
Houston Bike Patrol.
