>Space City Bicycle Club will host a special meeting for all interested
>individuals to hear about the proposed legislation that could affect
>cyclists during the current 77th Legislative session.

>Gayle Cummins, Executive Director of the Texas Bicycle Coalition (TBC)
>headquartered in Austin, TX, and Robin Stallings, a bicycle industry
>leader,
>will talk about the issues facing cyclists including Senate Bill 238, the
>anti-bike bill. They will talk about what is being done throughout the
>state
>to stop SB238 and what Houston area cyclists can do to help.

>SENATE BILL 238 WOULD:
> · Ban groups of more than 2 bicyclists from ALL Texas Farm and
Ranch
>roads without unimproved shoulders.
> · Require all cyclists to ride in single file; and
> · Require all cyclists to mount a "slow vehicle triangle" on
their
>bikes.

>In addition, Cummins will discuss TBC's landmark legislative agenda, which
>includes the most ambitious, pro-bicycling legislation ever attempted in
>the
>nation, the Matthew Brown Act, in honor of the 11-year old Plano resident
>who was struck by a truck while riding his bicycle.
