Rick,
Nozzle cleaning is a ritual of mine anytime the car sits for more than a couple of weeks. I also have a hand held Pyrometer that I use when warming up the engine and if a cylinder is cooler than the rest, it's time to check that nozzle and spark plug.

I finally drug out the digger last Friday night for T&T at our local track. Launching full throttle against the transbrake we ran 8.82/150.9 1st run. It pulled a little to the right then the rearend wiggled back & forth all the way down the track. It woulda been in the 8.60's or 8.70's if it were planted better. I blame it my weak burnout & cold tires. the next run was straight as an arrow, but slowed to 9.14/142, and I couldn't figure out why. The last run was under the lights in the left lane. As soon as I let go of the transbrake, the rearend jumped to the left and shot me straight the 'tree. I caught it in time & putted down to the 1st turnoff & loaded up. They don't spray the track on Friday nights, and I almost paid for it. As we were loading the car, I noticed it didn't sound right. Dad put his hand over each pipe & found a cylinder out - probably another plugged nozzle & probably what slowed the 2nd run.I'm going to start tearing the car down this weekend for some much needed cleaning, painting, rechroming, etc. in anticipation of bringing home my 14:1 406" engine soon. Hopefully I'll be running 7.90's by spring. At least I made it out once this year!- Rick Holliday
