RE: [FPYG] Reflective vests: Any suggestions?

Careful when ordering some construction vest.  Highway Admin's approve them by the about of brightly colored surface area.  Sounds safe but the flip side is the smallest size to provide the needed surface area is often XXL.

United Rentals sells road crew type vests, there are a couple of locations in Frederick.  Like everything else, they are made in China.

John - I wear one that was made by "VisMat" - I just googled and could not find them on the web.  (I bought mine at the Michigan National 24-Hr Challenge a few years back.)  I shall take a peek at it again when I get home from work today to see if there is a company name there.  Bob & Kathy Dollar liked it so much that they ordered the same vest for themselves a handful of years ago.  It is a construction worker's vest, which works perfectly for me, because in my former career I was the construction worker in the Village People.  But I don't like to talk about it.

I will ask my randonneur friends for recommendations as well.

What I especially like about my vest is that is does not "ride up" my back, which would only be of use to planes flying overhead.

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has a strong recommendation for a specific reflective cycling vest. I've seen a few online from Nathan but I haven't have the opportunity to try any on. On one discussion group, a writer mentioned being happy with the kind of vest road construction workers use. Is anyone quite satisfied with the vest he/she owns?

John
