To Manny and everyone else.
Indoor regionals is coming up next weekend. So heres as much as I
know:
This is a grown-ups tournament, so there?s no accommodation. I
suggest we go up and back
on both days. If anyone can drive that would save a lot of hassle,
please post back to
the group if you can.
If not, I?m going to get the train on the Saturday morning, if you
fancy a cheaper
option, you can book yourself on the bus etc.
The train leaves from paddington and takes between 25 mins and 50
mins, and is about 10
pounds return.
This is the team im expecting, let me know if you have problems.

UKUA Membership
You can read the section below. They?ve got a new UKUA website, and
they?ve erased all
the reams, details etc. Ive tried to create a new Flump, but there
are various issues I
cant be bothered to go into. Hopefully I can set one up next week or
so, so we can
register online. If we qualify, or you want to play at Tour, you
will have to be paid
members.

Accommodation
I wasn't able to sort out any accommodation/hall space I'm afraid so
obviously it'd be
best to go for a hotel/B&B/hostel.
Schedule and Seedings
There will be two pools of 8, followed by crossovers, quarters,
semis and final. The
seedings will be done by looking at results from last year's
Nationals, then qualifiers,
then on any information I can gather about a team.
Party
We'll be heading to a pub called The Three B's which is on Friar
Street in Reading. It's
a nice place with good beer (plus proper ale if you're a fan of
that). It's in the centre
of town so it's easily accessible from the train and bus station,
plus all the
restaurants. I've attached a document with a map which points to the
place.
Parking
The leisure centre car park isn't huge, and they'd like to keep it
available for the
other users of the centre if possible. There is a big Asda right
next door to the centre
and you can park there.
Food
There is a café at the leisure centre where you can buy such
athletically friendly foods
such as Tea, Coffee and sandwiches. I imagine many of you will go to
the Asda for lunch,
but if you do can you please refrain from eating anything bought
outside whilst in the
leisure centre.
Rostering
A reminder that all players at UKUA sanctioned events, including
indoor
Regionals and Nationals, must be paid-up members of the UKUA.
However, this is a slight change from last year, when regionals
players
merely had to be online members. Therefore, there will at this late
stage be no harsh penalties for those who have not paid before
regionals, but we nevertheless ask that everyone who can does pay.
At Nationals, rosters will be taken and checked.
Almost everyone who plays regionals will be playing in further UKUA
tournaments this year, so you'll have to pay anyway. Do everyone a
favour and get it sorted now.
Cheers, Benji
