Please send out the update for FJY tournament.

2008 Florida Judo Yudanshaka State Championships Updates
The tournament directors met at the Central Florida Joint Workout and agree on
three changes for the tournament
1) Junior Division will use a 4 member pool system; this will give each player
three matches. We will have two third place medals for these divisions.
2) Club Instructor/Coaches should weight-in their students and places their
initial on the entry form to indicate the official weigh. We would like all
pre-register players to be weight-in as the pools will be set up on Friday.
3) Cost to Entry a second division will be $20.00.

I was to thank John Fiege Judo Ryu Jacksonville for hosting the Central Florida
workout series. Thanks to Brian Germain, Dale Thompson and all the other
instructors and students that helped make this workout a success. The randori
period was awesome and there was lots of good Tachi waza happening. The social
hour at the Chinese Buffet was also a big hit with the students. They worked up
a big appetite and everyone went home full.
Mark now on your event's page the next Central Workout will be at El Mambi Judo
in Tampa on the 15th of March. I believe the Central region is now well prepared
for the USJA State Championship's that are going to be held on the 8th of March.
Let's get out there and show our best. I still have opening's for April and May
for any Central Region Judo Club to Host this workout series. Let me know if
you are interested in being a sponsor.

Still no judo clubs in SW Florida, i.e. south of Sarasota (50 minutes North of
me, North of Miami, (2 hours south of me). I have a Ikkyu (1st Brown) and if I
could find someone with a Black belt to help, me locally start a club I would.
Have a perfect place in Punta Gorda and could find one in Port Charlotte if I
had too. Help! Thanks

I was asked to pass on the information below.
Several people have asked whether they are to bring their judogi to this clinic.
Bring your judogi just in case. I don't know if Sensei Saito will be working on
the mat.
________________________________________________
Coaches, Players, and Officials are encouraged to attend this clinc. Don't miss
this clinic!!!
This Clinic in particular is done in DADE and BROWARD for those referees that
have commented that the clinic are always in Miami. So there are no excuses for
not attending!!!
Referees the number one priority should be, to be the best referees possible
they can be and try to learn from the best. Sensei Saito is one of the best
referees in the World according to the International Referees around the World
and was without a doubt the best Referee in the Athen Olympics. So please let's
all take advantage of who we have visiting us to learn and become better
referees, the clinic is open to everyone irregardless of affiliation.

Subject: Cherry Blossom Registration Clarification and Extension
Hi David, Please send this out on you list ASAP.
________________________________________________
There appears to be some misunderstanding about registration, weigh-in, and
pre-registration for the Cherry Blossom; so we've decided to allow youth
registration and weigh-in on Saturday, 2/2/08 until 10AM. Of course adults can
still register and weigh-in anytime until 12 noon.
Anyone registering on Saturday, the day of the tournament, the fee will still be
$50.
We will allow club weigh-in and pre-registration through Thursday night, no
later.
Competitors weighing in, and registering Friday 2/1/08, between 7 & 8PM at
Atlantic High School, will be considered as pre-registering and their fee will
be $35.
Thank you!
BTW! Don't forget the tournament is at Atlantic H.S. in Delray Beach, not in
Boca Raton.
Yours in the "Way", mike

To: David Ellis <awejudo@...>
Hi David Please send out.
------------------------------
Update on the South Regional work out. It was a
great success. Approximate 135 students were present
from judo clubs Panther, Ki-Itsu-sai, Budokan,
Falcon, Champion Judo, Onikusu, Key West, North Miami
Training Center, Vigness, One Dragon, etc.
The level from the little ones to the USA World team
members like Jeanette Rodriguez, Pool, etc. were
present. They all had over 10 randori of tachiwaza
and Newaza.
This is a HUGH step in the developing process of our
Florida athletes, our next work out is at Ki-Itsu-sai
in Coral Springs (possible date 02-23-08, not certain
on the actual date at this time) due to Boston
tournament.
Our March work out will be at the Budokan Judo Club.
We will have pictures of the work out soon, stay tune.
By the way lets give Gabe and Onikusu a A+ for
hospitably great venue and the food was AWESOME.

David Please post to our Judo Friends:

Special thanks to Central Florida Judo & Jujitsu for hosting the Jan
Regional workout. To all the club's and Instructor's that have once again given
there full support of this very important training that our club's & student's
need. Brian & John thanks for your awesome demonstration of foot techniques.
Again the dojo was full to almost over flowing.
I kind of messed up on the time's. Please forgive me! The morning class
was huge and I gave them our traditional 11:30 to 1:00 PM break. Forgetting we
were supposed to start our afternoon program at noon. Well, we did start at noon
but were missing a few players. All in all I think everyone have plenty of
matches and are sure going to be ready for the up coming tournaments.
The next workout will be in Jacksonville next month at John Fiege dojo
(Judo Ryu Jacksonville). I believe on the 23 of Feb and he will be posting all
the information on this work out soon. Also look forward to March because we
will be heading to El Mambi Judo club in Tampa we will also get out more info on
this workout.
I hope everyone enjoyed the Cookout afterwards. Thanks to Erica & Howard
for being the Chef's. They grill a mean hamburger & hotdog.
Again thanks for making this a huge success.
respectfully,
William E Andreas
