In the past, I have studied rear wheel steered bikes. (See
http://wannee.nl/hpv/abt/e-index.htm .)
And this geometry looks very much like Fred de Weert's ABT. Fred could
ride it, with lots of effort. He told me that riding it was not really
riding but a circus act.
I have tried it for a month or so, but was never able to ride more than
two pedal strokes on it.
So, it _IS_ possible to ride it, but few people will be able to learn it.
I have seen the idea of hubless wheels before, too. And I'm convinced
that this is a very inefficient system, because you need so many small
and fast-running bearing balls that keep the rim in place. And if a
grain of sand might come in that mechanism....
A good combination with the CVT, which will absorb the remaining energy
of the rider, in case (s)he might indeed try to ride it.
I agree with John, that the seat might be the only interesting concept
on this contraption. I would prefer a 3rd handle on the top, as the bike
is so low that you might want to use that one if you walk with it.
Cheers,
Erik Wannee.
