Rebuilding my secondhand Flevo Racer   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #641 of 1136 |
I recently bought my first recumberant, a old looking grey metalic
flevo racer, unfortionatly everything exept for the frame is very worn.

I've already begun with home spoking 28" wheels for my racer. i'm
using a Nexus 7 speed hub with rollerbrakes on the front and rearwheels.
rollerbrakes are cheap to buy and fit, they make you stop quickly plus
they need little maintainance.

Im also thinking of using 2 sprocets in the front 42/52 tooth
But i suppose i could use 3 sprocets in the front 22/32/42 tooth
Some doubt there

also how to tension the chain, i realy want a rholoff chain tensioner,
but rholoff is pretty expencive stuff, plus its hard to come by and
i'm bycicle mechanic/student.
Maby using the deraileur as a chain tensioner will work?

Anyway when thats al done i have to find a way to learn how to ride my
flevo, acording to most it costs at least 3 weeks to learn the basics
of riding the bike.

when al that is done i'm probably going to have the flevo repainted
grey mettalic is awfull and i'm going to upgrade the rollerbrakes with
larger cooling disks.

I hope you have loads of pionters for me

Thanks in forward Jurjen From Arnhem
