I am sitting at a meeting right now and it has come to our attention that the club needs help. We are in the process of electing officers for next year and are in need of someone to be Sectretary for the region.
Basically, this means that you attend the General membership meeting on the first Wednesday of the month and the Board meeting on the second Wednesday of the month. Take notes and publish them.
Do you think you would be interested? It isn't tough. If you have any questions or interest, please let us know.
We would like to remind you of this upcoming event.

RALLYCROSS: The last two dates for 2003 are October 18 and Nov 1.
Remember to use up your pre-paid discount events if you have any
left, they are only good this season. The course is in great shape
and new Rx-Masters have been redesigning it each event, so there are
new challenges all the time.
FALL RALLY: Next up is the October 26 rally. This event will benefit
Rochester Homes for the Poor and is co-sponsored by the Webster
United Church of Christ. Region members Fred Mis and Doug Hall are
working on the event, with guidance from Tom Langdon and lots of
encouragement from the rally community. There will be a question and
answer section, mid event break for coffee (sponsored) then a short
time-speed-distance section, and dinner available at the Church after
the event. Many door prizes, trophies, and lots of fun, all for a
good cause. There is a maximum of fifty cars, so sign up soon.
FALL RALLY: In November we have the final fall series event, Carl
Dresie's traditional "Third Event". But there is nothing traditional
about Carl's rallies. They are always unusual and clever concept
events, and include a tour of the beautiful fall colors. Come on out
on November 9th for the next in this series of fun-for-the-entire
family rallies.
WINTER SERIES: December begins the winter series, with an event by
Jason Kostyshak and Rick Barnes on the 6th. Additional series dates
are January 17 (rallymaster needed), January 31 (Alan Smith),
February 21 (Rallymaster needed), and March 13 (Rallymaster needed).

AWARDS & SANTA: Save December 13th for the annual Rally Holiday and
AWARDS party. Series and class awards for Rally and Rallycross will
be presented at this event, along with the traditional visit from
Santa. Cheap Charlie's in Bloomfield will again host. Details soon.
Special awards will be presented at the Region banquet on January 24.
WINTER RALLYCROSS: And, just to make sure you don't get anxious for a
pylon "fix" over the long cold winter, Winter Rallycross dates have
been selected: January 10, February 14 (you'll be done in time for
your sweetie to warm you up), and March 6. If you want to take your
turn as Rx-Master get in touch with Bruce Perry. Hopefully we won't
have to cancel any of the events due to good weather...
Details on each event can be located in TopEnd, on the region website
at www.flr-scca.com or by signing up for the
fingerlakesrally@yahoogroups.com mail list.
Hope to see you at an event soon

Finger Lakes Region has an exhibit planned for the Rochester Auto
Show,fro Thursday 2/27 through Sunday, 3/2.
The exhibit needs to be staffed during the time the show is open.
Usually about 4 people are "on duty" at a time, but more are welcome.
The goal is to chat with people who stop to look at the cars and
videos, and try to interest them in region activities. The rally
program likes to have people there throughout who are knowledgeable
about rally / rallycross / pro rally.
There are still some openings for workers:
Friday evening
Saturday late morning to early afternoon
Saturday evening
Sunday late morning to early afternoon
Sunday afternoon
For your assistance you get:
Free admission to the auto show. Either before or after your
shift you are free to check out the show.
