The Long Way Home, January 10, 2009

 

It is once again time to enjoy the winter roads of the southern tier with the Finger Lakes Region 2009 Winter Rally Series.  The first rally of the series consists of approximately 160 competitive miles using mostly unpaved, and some paved, roads in the New York Southern Tier.

 

There is a 35 car limit, so pre-registration is recommended.  Series classes are Equipped, Limited, Stock, and Novice.

 

Snow tires are recommended (all season tires may limit your speed group eligibility), tow rope/strap, and 90 minutes of flares or one DOT triangle are required to compete.

 

Start/Finish location: Yard of Ale Canal House, 3226 Genesee St., Piffard NY

 

Schedule:      

                        Registration               3:30 to 4:30 PM

                        Novice school            4:00 PM

                        Driver’s Meeting        4:30 PM

                        First car starts           5:01 PM

                        First car finishes        about 11:00 PM
