The Newtown brewfest is this Saturday from 2-6. The Tyler glow tournament is at
6. Anyone planning on playing Tyler? I'm trying to bum a ride from the brewfest
(about a mile from Tyler) and then back to Delaware County after the glow
tourney. I'm not real interested in driving.
It's real close to the regional rail line -- I'm trying to con the wife and a
couple friends into hitting the brewfest if you have any interest . .. .it's
just off the R3 line.

I go glow. Glow I go. Glow glow glow.
I know you don't glow. You won't show for glow. You no-show no-go glow. Glow
go-go I don't know, but glow, I go.
Oct 21st is Tyler. I like Tyler. I played it a couple of years ago. I could go
re-glow. Wanna glow?
Oct 28th is Jordan. I like Jordan. I've never glowed there. I'll glow if you'll
glow.
I think we should show up at Tyler at like 2, play a round of random draw
doubles, head to that pizza place and have pizza and beers, then go glow. ??
If this message doesn't make any sense to you ignore it. You're dumber than Tim
Ganotta and won't be able to find your way out of the woods in the dark anyway.
Please don't ask me about the required equipment to play glow golf. Ask someone
nice.

A good day for golf, and a better day for the mosquito's. They were
out in full force this afternoon trying to get in their last meal
before the cold weather. A small turnout of 15 for doubles with a
Sedgley regular smashing an ace. All blue tees, regular 18. Results
as follows.
Lefty/Lefty 42*(-12) $20.00 (* - won 1st playoff hole)
Paul W/Stu 42 (-12) $12.00
Myers/Bax 43 (-11)
AKing/Trixie 43 (-11)
Crash/Burn 46 (-8)
Philzone/Ben 47 (-7)
Josh/Dr.Kyle 47 (-7)
Crowe/Tim 52 (-2)
Lefty cards an ace on hole #10 with a skip tomahawk to collect 51
dead
president George's (that's Washington, not Bush). Not bad for a day
of
disc. Thanks to all who played.

Thursday Doubles from 04-Aug-2005 (No, that's not a typo. I really do
mean 2005...)
All blue 1-18. I can't remember, but I'm willing to bet tags ran long
and made doubles play all blue. August is that funky month that loses
45 minutes of daylight, but tags never seems to start earlier until
Labor Day...

Hey! That's $70!! Shouldn't it be $72? Well, if'n I remember correctly
(and I don't), Brian Frederick was the lone golfer and Sedgley took
pity on the traveller and let him pick 2 w/o paying double (or maybe
he was awesome w/1 mulligan a hole).
Anyway, how do Turtle and Heff get paired in 2x's from all Blue?
BAGGERS!!
Well, I can finally toss those old cards I've been saving for no
reason whatsoever.
Don't tell Mike, but Biscuit threatened to come to golf this
Thursday. Apparently, her old roomate Freeman is getting married
Labor Day weekend and Melissa will be in the Philly area and can't
resist Thursday 2x's at Sedgley.
But it's only a rumor...
Mugs and Misses,

$16.00 was collected for the ace pot tonight, but no aces were hit.
Half of tonights pot goes back to the course and the other half

We had another nice turnout as 13 players put up $140 for the winners to
take. The course was all Red 1-9,A,B,12-18. The team that had the player who
aced 8, birdied 12, and aced 14 DID NOT WIN!!! Here are the results:
MLowe/MLowe -11 43 $140
Nate/BNoakes -9 45 Tied FPL
MKlein/PeteH -9 45 Tied FPL
MattH/JKlein -9 45 Tied FPL
AaronS/JimB -8 46
NickS/MasterP -7 47
EvilMan/Ty -5 49 DFL
Nate birdied 12, aced 14, and aced 8 in that order. I had never witnessed 2
aces by the same player in 1 round. Amazing!! YTD$ to follow, Klein. Next week
we will draw at 5:40.

Thanks for posting the results from 8/15. I have the cards but forgot. I'll
update the YTD$ after tomorrow nights play. We will start at 5:50 on 8/22. $10
a player and winner takes all. See you there, Klein.

from the Atlanta DG discussion board:
How to Figure Your Refreshment Ratio
By Jim Widick
We have all seen this before. It's a typical hot, summer day. It has
been a very tough round of golf. Now, I am sitting on the bench
behind #15's tee pad with four holes to go, and the parched looking
guy says, "Do you have another beer?"
"Great," I think to myself, "yet another guy who doesn't know how to
calculate his Holes Per Beer Ratio! Now this guy is going to try to
work me out of my last beer."
"Yes," I say, "I have another beer, but it looks like you don't have
any." "Aw, come on," the mullet-out-of-water says, "you have one
beer in your hand and another one in the cooler."
"Yes, but if I give you my last beer, then when I am done with this
one, I will be just like you- Thirsty!"
Now if I were to continue with this example, "Mullet" would offer me
a dollar for my last beer (I can't drink the buck when I am
thirsty); or he will say that he will give me a beer when we get
back to the parking lot. (Good, I give mullet a cold, American beer
and he gives me a warm, cheap, rice beer in its place); or
finally, "Mull" says he is going to the store after the round (Yeah,
to get himself some cold ones for when he GETS HOME!). No! The point
is that "Mull" is not drinking responsibly! Mullet needs to properly
calculate his Holes Per Beer (HPB) ratio.
How to Figure Your Own Personal HPB ratio:
One of the main factors in figuring your HPB is "How many beers did
you bring with you?" If you brought none, then your HPB is ZERO! You
bring none; you've got none!
The opposite can also be eliminated. If you bring an entire case of
beer for yourself, for just one round of golf, you are probably a
rummy, and you are drunk from the moment you wake up each morning
until you pass out each afternoon, so your HPB won't be remembered
anyway.
So let's go with simple math and figure you will bring a six pack.
That would be HPB of 3 to 1 (6 beers into 18 holes = 3 to 1). This
can be adjusted up or down, but with anything lower than 3 to 1, you
run the risk of not remembering the final score again.
Next we have the golfers who come with plenty of beer and then leave
them in the parking lot. "I'll just bring one with me." You will be
like our ol' buddy "Mull" by the fourth hole. If you insist on being
a "bagger" (one who refuses to buy a disc golf cart, which has a
cooler attachment), or refuses to plan ahead and stash a cooler in
the woods, I remind you of a recent two-word identification: thirsty
mullet!
Sometimes a "cart-rite" (a golfer who is smart enough to have a disc
golf cart) might have extra room in his cooler. Sometimes he may
not! However, if he does, it might cost you a cold one to use it. If
all else fails, take a couple of discs out of your bag, use can
coolers, and put one or two in you bag!
Okay, let's recap:
1) If you bring none, then you have NONE! In other words, if you
show up empty handed, you can expect a hardy handshake, NOT a cold
one!
2) Divide the number of beverages you bring, into the number of
holes you expect to play, and you will have your Holes Per Beer
ratio.
3) If you do not have access to your beers when you are thirsty, you
will be thirsty!
4) If you find that you have brought too many, "Mull" always seems
to be around.
