October 19th is a Tuesday. Sign-up at 6:00, start at 6:15. Anyone
interested
in getting the glow season started?
Glow random doubles? $5/man. Winners take all?
I know - Tuesday night is supposed to be $10 . . . . it's dark out,
let's make it cheaper.
If there's any interest (8+ people) I'll even run it. I'll probably
even
call some blue tees . . . . I know -- more blaspheme(sp?).
I'm trying to use this a trial run before trying to con French Creek
or some other glow idiots into gathering for some kind of a
4-man glow-team event.
My hope is by giving everyone a couple weeks notice you'll have
time to get your glow gear in order before you show up at
Sedgley. I still have some of the little glow sticks you can tape to
your discs left-over from last year that I'll be SELLING for $1
each. You can buy them at various party-supply places on the
web for like $.25/ea . . . . please don't hesistate to do so if you
don't want to pay me retail at the course. If you're going to use
glow discs make sure that you figure out a way to charge your
discs. When I'm using a glow disc I charge it with MY 2 million
candle flashlight. The flashlight that I brought . . . .I didnn't
bring it
to charge everyone's discs -- I brought it to charge MY discs.
Discrafts' Photon stuff holds a charge for much longer than
Innova's does. The glitch with using glow discs at Sedgley is that
on most nights there's enough ambient light that it makes the
glow discs difficult to see/find even when they're charged. I
usually just have three clear Z-discs with a glow stick taped to
the bottom of them and that's all I use -- no they're not my usual
daylight discs so I don't get to just throw the same muscle
memory shots that I usually do at Sedgley -- it's dark out, I like
the challenge. Phil of course throws glo discs that he's never
touched before in his life . . . he hasn't figured out that you can
actually throw glow plastic in the light -- but it's fun to listen to
him
whine about how he doesn't know what his discs will do.
The fishing blinkee lights are supposed to be the best and I'm
ordering some to try out and I'll let you know if they're that much
better than the little glow sticks.
If you're interested in playing glow and all the stuff that I've just
typed is Greek to you -- please get up to speed in the next couple
of weeks before you show up. I'm not your father and it's been
amazing the last couple of years when guys (especially the
twenty-somethings) get mad at ME because they can't find
they're favorite blue disc in the dark. It's dark -- don't throw your
favorite blue disc because most likely you won't find it. Unless
you're Boca -- he makes it easy on himself by throwing it under
the basket . . . .but you're not Boca because he still hasn't found
the internet.
After all that blathering that I'm sure only Phil or EBush will read
.
. . .Tuesday, October 19th, 6:00 sign-up 6:15 start, are you in or
what?
Any better/different ideas I'm all ears.
Oh, we have pictures of you Paris, I mean Dana. Just keep doin' what
ya been doin' and the portfolio grows.
No Paul, they are not for sale, . . . . yet.
Gee, ya don't check your e-mail for a day and this is
what you get. Well, no-one seems to have a blue face
(at least not from repeatedly e-mailing me) so I guess
I got this message before anyone else. CPoole has the
info he needs.
I'll tell you what pictures I want to see...I want to
see pictures of ME playing disc golf in the past 3
months. What's that you say? You don't have any
pictures of me? Well that's absurd! I'm there all
the time! (in spirit)
Missing everyone, missing golf, and still missing
putts,
Dana

When did I gain an "e" at the end of my last name? Perhaps Mike Kleine WAS
there for doubles. Mike Klein was definitely not! I'm not afraid of water so
much as I'm afraid of lightning. I hear that Mike Kleine got 3 aces on Tuesday.
Is this true? I also heard that Mike Kleine stayed later than anybody else
that evening. Can anybody confirm this?

-glow golf sounds like a blast. is it only for "A" players or do
you just have to be crazy enough to show up?
my qualifications~
1. I am one of the idiots that made it through last winter playing
at least once a week in the dark/wet/cold-
2. I live kinda near French Creek,
3. I am not afraid of the dark.
4. I am very willful- often accused of being relentless.
5. I am intelligent- often being accused of being too smart for my
own damn good.
so ,if this is open to all levels of play- count me amongst the mad
(wo)men that are interested in glowing this winter. Nan

Rumor has it that Mike Kleine was the only one to show up for doubles.
Can this be true?
Has Mike concurred his aquaphobia?
Can you be accused of leaving early if you are the only one there?
If a disk hits a tree in the woods and there's no one else there to
hear it does it count as a Mulligan?
Please I need some answers!
Posted 3 more Photos on the Friends Site Today. Everyone must harrass
the webmistress until she gets me the information I need so that I
can update the website for everyone! So email her until your blue in
the face....Also let me know what pictures you would like to see up
on the site as I have about 90 or so from the past several months.
Thanks.

Thanks. Called the course pro- he filled me in on a Sunday doubles tourney.
(Unfortunately the tourney was moved to Saturday- so I missed my opp to play
with all the locals. Bummer. Funny how the greater disc golf community's
ability to communicate sucks as a whole. Thanks again for getting back to me

Greetings Friends... I mean "Fiends"! (sorry Phil)
Judwah and I are back from a weeks trek to the Emerald Isle, and I'm
glad to inform you that we had at least one pint of Guiness for each
of you. We visited the Guiness Brewery and the Jameson's Whiskey
Distillery all in one morning (with tastings of course), followed by
a Pub Lunch with Guiness.... if that tells you the kind of week we
had :^). Also, played Ball Golf at one of the most picturesque golf
courses on earth. Followed by a couple of pints on the 19th hole, of
course.
Talk about coincidences... as we're standing in line at the Philly
Airport going through Customs and ready to board our plane to
Shannon, Ireland, I look up and there's Kevin and Trish standing in
line and getting ready to board the same plane (they're in Ireland
for 2 weeks seeing Trish's family). Even better, Kevin pulls a small
bottle of Yaeger out of his bag and we proceed to 'Yodilaheehoo' in
the middle of the airport. Amazing...
Anyway... Judwah and I are looking forward to seeing everyone at Tags
this coming Saturday.
Peace... Dan Saute'
Along the same "glow" theme I started a discussion on the
MADC site about a 4 man glow match versus other courses.
There's been some takers so don't be surprised if I'm asking for
volunteers to represent Sedgley in a glow-team match. The most
obvious match being Sedgley v French Creek since I know that
Rman has some idiots up there that play in the dark/wet/cold just
like we do at Sedgley in the winter.
Let's all remember that October/November/December glow golf
ain't nothing like par 2 Thursday nights at Sedgley during the
summer. It's usually a test of wills and a test of intelligence. If
you have any brains at all you'll stay the fuck out of the woods
when it's cold/dark/wet!!!

I goobered up and started a whole "glow" chat over on the
"friends" site when I meant to put it here on the "Fiends" site . . .
what's up with glow this winter?
Anything format-wise that would get 6-10 out on a regular basis?
Triples? Doubles? Tags? etc.?
I love getting to play during the week and would like to see some
sort of regular competition but I know that in the past couple of
years glow doubles on Tuesday night only gets about 4 guys on
a good week.
Leave it on Tuesdays and keep it as glow doubles? Try a
different night . . . Wednesday?
After the time change it don't matter to much to me because
soccer practice gets pushed earlier so when it's dark at 6:00 I'm
done anyway.
Whatever -- I really don't have any interest in running a big
Halloween glow tourney either Joe. Tyler's having one the 23rd
and Jordan's having one on the 29th(?). Besides -- I'm not much
of a big tourney guy anyway -- it just takes too long.

4 golfers paid their $10, 17 holes from Red with 3 changes: #1 teed
off from 15 ft in front of the putt off line about 100 ft further
than normal, #7 played from tee of 7 to basket 4, and #12 played from
red 12 to basket 13!
Not much drama occurred, Wickham Steve and DPrue went against
PeterT and ME (Ty's buddy Mike). Steve/Prue birdied 2 thru 6
and it was over early. Prue hit putts on 1-5. The shot of the round
was Steve's 2nd shot on 12 to 13, his drive was near log but in the
woods left with not much of a window, Prue laid up to blue 13 and
Steve amazingly found a way to within 20 ft of basket 13 for the
birdie 3 on a tough par 4!
Scores:
Steve/DPrue -7 ($40)
PeterT/ME *** E ($0)
* = bogies
btw, both teams had easy pars on the extended 1 and 7.
Next week requires a 5:15 start again.

Mr. Wharton:
While my client fully appreciates your most public choice of forum selection
for the "sincere apology" you allegedly sent him at 12:59 PM- electronic
research has revealed, that in all likelihood, said "apology" was fully
bereft of sincerity and thus dripping with unacceptable/ actionable sarcasm.
Said retraction reminds Mr. Leventhal of the time he asked one of his
clients (who happened to be accused of defamatory use of e-publicity) to
issue a public apology for having called the plaintiff "an asshole" in a
recent issue of his e-magazine. The client next quite dutifully wrote his
published retraction in which he wrote: "I'm sorry you're such an asshole"
thereby tripling the plaintiff's ultimate recovery.
Mr. Leventhal is not only unable to show his face at Sedgeley Woods from
here on out- but has opted to include lost future earnings in his claim
against you for damages constituting all of the lost revenue he'd have won
from your sorry ass in ongoing sidebetting maneuvers should he have
continued in his honorable support of what had heretofore been rather high
on his list of extracurricular passions.
Please advise should you prefer formal service of process in person or at
your place of employment.

Steve's Lawyer- using his PC until we can revive him from your assaultive
e-mail attempt at humor at his expense.

Were there donations?

Yeah - no scorecard. One of my few appearances and the perfect opportunity to
have a big controversy and cooler heads prevailed. Boca/Papa described some
mystery guy VA driving off with the scorecard and no one even got a little
suspicious. Tim the Toolman (the mystery man's partner) was also out of sight
post-round. Where were the whiners? Where was the figure pointing and name
calling? Where was all the joy in harassing Boca and hearing him come up with
some more conspiracy theories? Obviously the Wood of Sedgley was much more
"laid-back" than competitive last night. I even tried to prod
Magic/Prue/Lefty/Poole into raising a stink about it -- they behaved like
grown-ups. Where's the fun in that? Bunch of kill-joys. Even I couldn't muster a
straight face to try to protest -- oh well. Maybe next year when I re-appear on
a Thursday night I can see some serious whining and temper-tantrums.
Hey what about Nan & Magic's -9? Unlike the winners, we at least turned in
our score cards!
