You've been very vocal about Sedgley affairs over the last few years. I
know your heart and intentions are in the right place, but you're
dangerously close to falling into the trap of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"
or even worse, "LaGrassa-itis." Where no matter what the issue is, the
fact that the commentary comes fom you is going to (unfortunately and
unfairly) make the concern lose some legitimacy. I know the feeling all
to well. You are doing what you truly feel is 'right' and are honestly
concerned about growing the club and the sport of disc golf. And for the
most part, your concerns are shared and agreed by many others. However,
there just comes a point when people just don't want to hear it from you
any more.

Many years ago, I had a long time enemy whom I engaged in almost
non-stop argument with. I was even banned from his property, a private
course. But we eventually kissed and made up and I came to volunteer to
work at his event for 2 years in a row, which was the biggest tournament
event in New England. We worked side by side the whole weekend, and
after many beers one night he eventually confided that "It got to the
point where even if I knew you were totally right, I just didn't want to
hear it from you."

My advice is to scale it back, CPoole. Pick and choose only the most
important of battles. Otherwise, when you raise a truly important
concern that is absolutely 100% valid, all the previous gripes will
appear like a boy crying wolf, and your important issue will fall on
deaf ears. The choice is yours. You can either spend your disc golf
career banging your head against the wall, or you can tone it down, so
that when it is truly warranted, you'll be able to actually effect some
change .
