FSW Elections 2008

Dear FSW Club,
It has been brought to my attention by our current Executive Director
that I am not trustworthy enough to run the current election even
though discussions of how the election would work at the November
board meeting were set forth by me, abiding to the timeline, not
dates, of the constitution. See Below:

Chris,
I am sorry to have to inform you that the duly elected Board of
Directors of Friends of Sedgley Woods has voted unanimously as of
November 24 no confidence in your ability to run an election
according to our bylaws and Constitution (see attached resolution).
You may still run for office on the next BOD if you can demonstrate a
legal nomination.
The Special Election Committee will consist of outgoing, incoming and
returning Board members not up for election, specifically: Jeff
Uhlenberg and Nan Elias representing the outgoing Board, Dave Prue
and Rome Vernon representing the returning Board and Brad Craig and
John Stash representing the incoming Board. Please forward all
relevant materials to them so that they may conduct a fair
and impartial election. Again, my deepest regret that it has come to
this. You have really left us no alternative. Please call if you wish
to discuss.

Pete

Now as a board memeber for the past 5 years, I know what a thankless
job these positions can be (especially GKW), but this is uncalled
for. I take this distrust as a personal attack from people I thought
I could call my friends. I am going to hear all kinds of lash backs
from this, but I dont give a shit, you have pushed too far.

Reasons your election was held up:
#1 Candidates slow to respond to nominations
#2 Candidates slow to turn in Bios*
#3 Board disputes over defintion of "mail" (snail vs electronic)
#4 Board arguing over election process
#5 First contested election in the club's history
#6 Fair and true processing for all candidates

*Only Chris Poole, Topher Oxnam and Mike Purkis turned in bios in a
timely fashion.

All nominees for the contested positions were at the November board
meeting, with the exception of Andy King. All nominees were notified
about their nominations(even though pete and the "special election
committe say otherwise). No one spoke up at that meeting and had a
problem with the way I was going to do the elections. So out of left
field I get hit with this. I think it just shows pete's cowardness
and he rallied people behind him because Pete is scared he is going
to lose. I believe Pete thinks I was going to rig this election.
Well, I was not going too, and I am confident in the FSW members to
make the correct decision when voting for your new board and
the "special election committee" runs the vote.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for letting me
serve you over the past 5 years on the Board. While on the board I
held the position of Groundskeeper for 3 years and in that time
period I helped build the back 6 holes (A-I), major errosion control,
rebuilding of steps on 13, installion of over 15 plus tee pads, 3
PCAFPD. My last two terms on the board I served as VP and also did
the competiton committee (which I was thrown into and did not
volunteer for), where I have helped with the Philly Open, Puppy
Preview, and ran the Milk the Goat for the past 4 years. With that,
I would like to annouce my resignation from the Executive Assisntant
position and Competition Committee after the December board meeting
and from the FSW club. This kind of punch coming out of left field
hurts, but just be happy knowing that I am going to turn the cheek
this time. Next time, I will be swinging Mike Tyson style back at
you, then, while you are laid out, mouth wide open, you gonna get
some SDYN....

peace
cp

PS. Pete will lose anyway, someone with the ABW platform will win.
One thing also Pete forgot to mention in his bio, before his present
term as Executive Director, he was Executive Director back in the
late 90's and booted from office, whereas I have been mutinied from
my position, but resigned afterwards because I was trying to run a
fair election....amazing.
