The nomination period has started for the FSW elections for 2008 and
will continue to run till November 5th (or the November board
meeting). To be nominated for a position there are some things that
need to be done. First your nomination must either be presented in
front of the board of directors during a board meeting OR you may
submit written nominations to the Executive Assistant before November
5th (the next board meeting).Nominations must have a motion and a 2nd
to be considered. You may nominate yourself, but you will need
someone else to second you. Written nominations must include:
Position running for, the motion to nominate, person whos 2nds the
motion, both names printed and signed. On the last day of
nominations, you may be verbally nominated and 2nd on November 5th in
front of the board if you did not do so in written form.
Now the tricky part, the ballots. As everyone well knows, it is my
opinion that it is a waste of money to mail ballots out to over 300
people, so, once the nomination period is over and I get the official
ballots printed up, I would like to distribute them at the course and
have people turn them in their without having to mail them. Then, if
by, the 2nd week in november certain members have not voted, we can
mail ballots out to them. The constituion says no ballots will be
accepted after November 22nd, this date will be extended till the
26th because the nomination period will run till the 5th of november.
I dont see why anyone would have a problem with the above procedure.
