The Fans of Dan Hodge Yahoo group is designed as a tribute to one of the all-time athletic greats, Daniel Allen Hodge.

Hodge is perhaps the only man to be an amateur wrestling champion... a pro rasslin' champ... and an amateur and professional boxing champion. (As seen in this homepage photo-montage created by John Clarke that shows the various aspects of Dan Hodge's life and career)

Hodge had one of the most storied amateur wrestling careers in the history of the sport. His mat accomplishments include:
* Oklahoma state champion, wrestling for Perry High School
* Three-time conference and NCAA champion at the University of Oklahoma in the mid 1950s at 177lbs
* A two-time member of the US Olympic freestyle wrestling team (1952 and 1956)
* Undefeated in four years of college
* A pinning machine who won 22 straight collegiate matches by fall
* Never taken down in college
* The only amateur wrestler to be featured as an amateur wrestler on the cover of Sports Illustrated in that publication's 50-year history.

3. Hodge was a tough wrestler, but always competed within the rules of good sportsmanship. Follow Dan's lead -- no unsportsmanlike conduct, no slams or flames. Think: Would I say this to the person's face?

Violators will be warned by the moderator. If violations continue, the moderator will exercise his right to ban the offending member from this Yahoo group. Have fun!
