play followed by a single elimination tourney. Pool play matches will be 2 games

(no cap).

There will several options on prizes for winners.

South Side is looking for a girls reserve volleyball coach this season. Anyone

position. It starts first week of August, and goes through October. practices

Spring season has had more 3 match nights of play but in the future that may
include Winter season.  But it may be more for certain leagues in the future... 
like Men's Fours and Coed A on Thursday.

Second summer season may be a week or two longer for nights that are good at
supporting the bar.  This would be Thursday, and possibly Wednesday.

Tuesday coed fours will offer any player a discount if they form a second team
on Tuesday.  An A- division may be created to make sure there are enough
divisions offered to allow a separate division choice.

Starting in June at the Plex, there will be a Women's and Men's fours league on
Wednesday and Coed Fours on Thursday.  These leagues will be cheaper and
unreffed.

I have had a few requests this season to change the schedule and I can do this
if its minor or a typo.  But this is why I ask that all schedule requests be
done upon entering a team.  I need to have all the data for all the teams in
front of me when I make a schedule...  not after.

I sent out info that Women's on Wednesday is 6's but it should have
read 4's:

Go to the Lutheran Hospital Complex, then park in the North Parking
Garage (free parking).  Once inside the building, take the elevator to
the  third floor conference room.



You will have to register membership to the Hoosier Region of USA
Volleyball in order to obtain your license (an additional $40.00).
All registration should be done on line.  I have attached instructions
for doing this.  This can also be done by going to our web site
www.hoosiervolleyball.org. There are also at least 4 documents you
need to download and bring with you to the clinic.

I would also encourage you to take the test on line; Jr. National
officials and National officials MUST take the closed book "A" test,
while others MAY take the "C" test open book;  go to our web site,
then to officiating then to on-line referee test. The password for our
Region is HOK954.

Please pass this information along to anyone you know that might be
interested in officiating USA Volleyball. This information will also
be on the web site.

I would appreciate your confirmation of attendance so I can get a

You can still sign up a team for the first-day-of-play fee which was
previously the early entry fee from last season (6's - $240 & 4's -

For Coed teams of 6, players need at least 3 players when the game
must start, and at least one must be a female.

For Men's 6's teams 3 male or female players are needed, and for
Women's 6's teams 3 female players are needed to avoid a forfeit.

Note:  Teams of three and four must have their server position be a
back row player.

For Coed 4's teams 2 players are needed to start the game, and one
must be a female.

For Men's or Women's 4's players need at least 2 players to play, and
women are allowed to play in the men's leagues.


For weekday games scheduled 6:30 and before 5 minutes leeway is given
to allow players to get to games on time due to traffic or working
late...

Refs are advised to call for the standard 2 minutes of net warm-up (or
earlier) if both teams have enough players to play with the game
starting at the scheduled game time.  Forfeit time is after last
warm-up hits have been allowed.  The second game of match is not
forfeited until the 15 minute mark of a scheduled match, which in the
case of a late starting league tourney game, would be instantaneous
for both games of a match.


Note:  Some leeway will be given to bad weather situations and other
emergencies during the season, but only in rare situations in the
league tourney due to the necessary timeliness that a league
tournament demands...

There are still teams that have players that owe for this fall season
and the deadline is November 25th.  Teams that aren't paid up by then
will have their teams automatically drop down to the loser's bracket
of the season ending double elimination league tourney.  Players that
owe can pay online at http://www.fairplayvolleyball.com, or in person
on site with me or the refs, or it can be mailed to 11917 Saint Joe
Rd, Grabill, In. 46741.

If paying online the individual fee is now $50 per player.  But next
season the team entry fee drops for teams that pay in a lump sum, and
also what was the early entry fee will now be the first-day-of-play
fee to make it better for captains to pay for the team in whole.

I finally updated the standings and they are up at

season and if not paid up by Nov. 25th will start in the loser's
bracket of the double elimination league tournament.  You can check on the

individual fee is now $50 because its so late.  Or payment can be

All the standings are up to date except for results from this last Friday, last
Thursday at the Seminary, and "C" league at Spiece last Wednesday.

We are having informal training for girls between 6th and 9th grade at
Spiece on Mondays from 6 to 7 pm until December 1st.  Just show up
whatever date you can make it and it will be $5 per girl.  The trainer
is South Side coach Erika Prasuhn.

This could lead to something more regular in the Winter.
