The Monday beach league is huge - Some men will play Wednesday her   Message List

The mens and women's fours league, which begins on May 2nd for the
men, and May 16th for the women, already has in the low 20's in
number of teams. I took 35 last season, and that was probably too
many as I had to schedule bye weeks and Wednesday matches for the
Monday league.

So far there are many more women's teams than men's... there are 3
times as many women's teams paid up as men's, and only one men's "A"
team is paid up for the upcoming season. So, consequently I won't
be asking the women to play on Wednesday this season, and they most
likely, as a group, will be playing early rather than late.

I would like to schedule 4 to 5 teams each week to play on Wednesday
for the Monday league. If you are a Men's team that has already
paid up for this season let me know if this is a problem, or any
team who might have a problem with a particular Wednesday, or
Wednesdays in general. A team that is willing to play on Wednesdays
occasionally will likely be scheduled some bonus matches in the
first two weeks of the season, or on a Wednesday they are scheduled
to play.

Teams that don't get in on the Monday league can still sign up for a new and
separate men's and women's fours league on Sunday. I am going to try an
experiment and allow kids to come out on Sundays as long as they are supervised.
The downstairs bar is not open on Sundays... and also on Sunday any hazards to
kids may be able to be dealt with before league play starts.

But kids under 14 are not ok on any other league day. There are too
many people around, and there is more traffic on the street, and a
lot of people are out there playing during the week to have a night
away from their kids... so they don't want to see your kids...
