I'd just like to say thanks to everyone for signing up and playing.
The league numbers seem to be growing all the time. 101 teams this
session and 98 last session indoor. I'm glad to meet new people all
the time. It would be great if it just kept getting bigger and
other sports could be involved and if it were all at one facility so
that it would seem like a party atmosphere every night...with a lot
of networking, exhilirating play and basic fun to be had. Most
importantly, though, is the need to give rednecks something to do to
keep them off the streets.

The main thing I want to do with Fair Play is give everyone a chance
to play. I went to a country school (Bellmont) where you needed to
have a name, or know important people, or be really good to help you
make teams. Also, it was hard to get rides to or from practices
from busy parents to even go out for sports. So I am interested in
doing what I can for anyone who ever really wanted to play, but
couldn't find their way to do so, or were excluded by the powers
that be.

I know some people get alienated sometimes because the level of play
is too tough (or vice versa) for them. I will start offering skills
clinics every month. And I want to have a couple leagues geared
toward beginner level teams in the future.

I just want everyone to find a level they like playing at. If you
are a superstar prima donna, or just think you are, I'll still try
to do the best I can. There was a foreign soccer coach who was
asked why so many third world countries produce many superstar
players. The answer is that they aren't dribbling balls
mechanically through cones like U.S. players and have a lot of joy
for the game from playing in the street all day. It wasn't a
business for them. And I know Fair Play is a business for me, but I
don't mind keeping the prices not too high so I can keep everyone
involved and have some good company as I move through this life.

I hate cliques in sports. Its almost like people can treat other
people like they aren't even worthwhile human beings just because
they can't play a sport as good as he or she can. Thanks to almost
everybody for not being clique-ish. There's so much crap going on
in the world that sports should be an escape for people and be more
mature and uncomplex. That's what I want. Thanks for helping me.

Mike
