Dear Bram,

I am writing from England to request the best possible way to advertise for rowers who may wish to spend season abroad.

This opportunity would ideally suit a student wishing to spend a gap year abroad and experience life, possibly improve their rowing and most importantly have fun.

My name is Jon McEvoy and I have been involved in rowing for the past 10 years. I am currently coach for Grosvenor Rowing Club, Chester. This is where the position would be based and we would also look to help prospective rowers find accomodation and work as necessary.

We are advertising in New Zealand, Australia and South Africa as well as America. And we would ask any interested rowers to send their rowing CV's to us. We are particularly looking for ex-junior internationals or high standard national rowers.
E-mails can be returned to this address.

I hope that you can be of some assistance, thanking you in advance, kind regards Jon.I am writing from England to request the best possible way to advertise for rowers who may wish to spend season abroad.

Hi Gang.
I know that it is only July, but if you are putting on a regatta in the next season please send me a note on when you are thinking about doing it. We need to try and synchronize our water and refs with the college races.
Also if you want to make any suggestions or comments please send them out to the FSRA@egroups.com so that coaches can have time to think about them and have discussions about them.

I am thinking of September 22 for our meeting.

Hope that all are having a great summer

Ladies and Gentlemen:

High School crew programs do not receive the media attention, in Florida,
that is given to programs in the northeast.

I would like to coordinate efforts to improve media reporting of Florida High
School Regattas in all areas where high school programs exist.

I encourage coaches to coordinate with each other and respective media, to
provide coverage for high school regattas.

I am focusing on Winter Park High's team; but would work with any program to
improve media coverage.

Best regards,

In addition to what Bram said, I would like to make the Internet services a
more useful tool for all of us. I plan to attend this year's coaches meeting
and collect information for your FSRA website. I will be rebuilding the team
contact page and updating the regatta schedule page. This is what I will be
asking for:

1) Team Info: High School/Club name, mailing address, and if available team
website. If a youth club, please include which high schools you will be
representing. Also, Contact Person(s) including name, title, day and evening
phone numbers, and email addresses.

2) Regatta Info: Event name, event date, entry deadline date, event location
(river/lake, city, state), event distance, point of contact (name, phone
number(s), email and mailing addresses) and if available regatta web page.

I will be forwarding a regatta entry deadline email from the Florida
Masters/Club yahoo group. This is an automated service which I will set up
using the regatta info for.

Please note that FSRA@egroups.com became FSRA@yahoogroups.com last year. I
don't for how much longer the FSRA@egroups.com address will work, so I
suggest updating your address book.

Enjoy the last few weeks of your summer!
Brice.

Greetings,

We are at the very beginning stages of starting a rowing
program at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm
Beach where my son Tristan will be a junior next year.
Tristan and I both row single and double sculls with the
Palm Beach Rowing Association but feel that it is indeed
time to get his school into the act. We've yet to meet with
either the school athletic director or the new principal but
hope to do so in the next couple of weeks after we would
have collected as much information about starting and
managing a school program as we can. Our club officers have
repeatedly indicated their interest in supporting a Dreyfoos
crew through the use of the boathouse, club boats, launch
and trailers.

Would anyone at the FSRA be available to answer occasional
questions that will likely arise in discussions with school
and school board staff? Would you be able to pass on
contacts at other Florida schools that might also provide
advice. Has FSRA developed any documentation that would
help a program in the development phase?

Thanks very much for your help.

Howdy,

Below is a list of hotels in Bainbridge for The Sunburn. There are multiple
fast food places in Bainbridge as well.

I would like those that are planning on coming to let me know if they would
be interested in a Pasta Dinner at the race site the night before. I
realize in the days of Mall Food Courts the interest in Pasta Dinners has
declined but if enough crews are interested we would like to host one.

Thanks,

Tom

Coaches-
I am writing to inform you that the Sanford Heritage Festival and Regatta is
progressing as expected. We are working on completing the registration packet,
and it will be out in the mail soon. We are also trying to make it available on
line. That might be wishful thinking. Again, the regatta will be held on Lake
Monroe on November 10th. The festival plans are going well also, and we are
trying to work with the coordinator to ensure some quality entertainment for the
night of the regatta. Depending on your outlook there is some good news/bad
news, "Country Music Night" was moved to Friday. I encourage everyone to stay
around after the races. There will be a party on the lake front after all of
the races with free beer. We are working on some food also. I have had a lot
of great responses so far, and we have had interest shown from some Georgia
clubs as well. I think it will be a great time, and I hope we can have a large
majority of the schools attend. If you have a!

Dear Family, Friends, Colleagues, and Students,

Yesterday was a day of tragedy. Such in-human action caused a
roller-coaster of emotions. From shock, to extreme grief and sorrow, to
anger. Tonight at 3:30am, I have a feeling of hope. I am determined to
make the world a better place for all.

Each individual can make a difference. I plan to energize my efforts at
teaching today's youth. To lead by providing a moral and ethical
example. To encourage others to become involved in our political system
and vote. To support the ideals of freedom on a global scale. I plan to
make the world a better place for everyone by re-cycling materials and
supporting environmental conservation on a global scale. I am going to
say "hello" to my neighbors and pursue my civic responsibilities with a
renewed vigor. I will continue to travel, explore various cultures, and
show human kindness to my world neighbors.

In closing, each individual has the ability to make a difference.
Together we will change the world.

Howdy,

Attached is the Sunburn packet for 2001.

All schools/clubs are invited. The Bainbridge Race site is beautiful with
tons of parking and viewing.

We have multiple flights (especially for Novices) and give cool medals to
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place boats in all flights.

I have already sent the Bainbridge hotels list. Enclosed is last years
Tallahassee hotel list so the contacts might be old.

I would also appreciate a preliminary count on who will be attending and who
would have interest in a pasta dinner the night before at the race site.

Thanks,

Tom
