Wow! What a great weekend for Rowing in Florida!!!!
Congratulations to FSRA and the Sarasota venue organizers for making the 2011 and outstanding success. Florida has some very fast crews.
The Regatta was a combination of efficient and fair racing for our athletes and a highly spectator orientated event for all who witnessed it. Now, That’s what we’re talking about.
Today, US Rowing is excited to introduce Online skills coach. It is a video and web based coaching software that will be US Rowing branded and available at discounted rate to our members.. Attached is Today’s Press release
US Rowling’s vision for this includes the ability of organizational members and member coaches to interface with Kris for consulting. I see it as a cool interface for our coaches to use and make their team better.
Mike Vertullo, our FSRA representative to SRAA, is working on the bid selections and will be in communication in the near future.
Please note that although FSRA currently does not count the light double or quad for FSRA scholastic points, scholastic teams in those races are eligible for SRAA bids. I have forwarded all informational emails about team boat qualifications (junior, varsity,
etc.) to Mike. He will contact you if he has questions.
Thanks,
Brice A. Crossley

With some high school racing still going on the weekend of May 14th, a number of masters programs are left without a trailer as the high school teams are already traveling with their boats elsewhere. If your club does have trailer space, or is able to bring other 8+s or 4+s that you would be willing to rent out to other clubs for the regatta, please let Stephanie Cobb, our regatta chair know! Her email is: Sailmorgan30@... . Thanks! Hope to see you all on May 14th!

Capital City Rowing is looking to rent a 4+ that's suitable for four guys that average 6'2, 195 and in very good condition. We'd prefer a Vespoli with wing riggers, but are open to other makes. If we could race with it at SE Regionals and then (hopefully) row it until youth nationals, that would be ideal.
Thanks for your time,

Gainesville Area Rowing has sent boats to Nationals for the last three consecutive years. We are looking for dynamic coaches to continue and improve our trend. If you are dedicated, experienced and have a positive attitude, please send your resume.
I have sent out brochures to every contact on the FSRA and FMRA lists about Sunshine State Games hosted in Gainesville on Sat, June 11th. I think that this would be a great regatta for anyone who would like to extend their season to include some 1,000 meter sprints! Many of you will be going to Nationals but if not, we would love to see you in Gainesville. On the masters front, this regatta is also part of the masters points series.
We are trying to plan for food and parking at this regatta and it would be really helpful to have an idea of how many teams are planning on attending. If your team is interested in this event, please send me a reply at murphymurphy@... so that we can be well-prepared hosts!
Thanks and good luck to everyone at Regionals!!!

I know of at least one coach who is
looking for the points breakdown from the 2011 Southern Sprints back in
February – I just can’t locate that coach’s contact
information.
Right now we are moving
southernsprints.org to a new server so all of the archived information from the
site is down. However, I can still get you points reports.
If you are interested in getting that
information, please let me know.
Would the coach that initially contacted
me regarding their end of year banquet, please email me directly at the above
address?

FYI: planning item for your future events to make sure your insurance coverage is valid. If you have questions, please contact your legal counsel.
FLORIDA RELEASE OF LIABILITY FOR MINORS
The attached Release of Liability must be signed in addition to the regular ROL when persons under 18 are participating. This is not a policy change by underwriters but is due to a 2010 Florida Law which a draft of is attached. Underwriters advise that:
The parental waiver is used in conjunction with waivers we provide for certain activities. Florida passed legislation in 2010 requiring specific language and font size. The waiver is to be signed by the parent or legal guardian prior to participation in the activity.
If the activity insured is one subject to our operations endorsements and warranties, the waiver must be signed by the parent and retained for a period of 5 years. If the insured is not able to present the waiver, obviously a warranty violation has occurred and may affect coverage.
Belen Jesuit Prep Crew is looking for a trailer to SRAA Nationals that can take a 4+ and 12 oars, and possibly a 2x too. If you're able to help us out, please contact me.
