Fast Teams Steering Course South Towards 35th Annual Miami Internat   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1798 of 2165 |
A quick update for all the coaches out there to let you know we have some fast teams heading for the Miami Regatta. Early commitments are as follows;

Sarasota Crew:  Led by Tom Tiffany and trying to fly under everyones radar this year, this team struck Gold at The Head of the Indian Creek and stunned Winterpark at the Hooch. Tom....secrets out--we know you're fast.

Belen: Silver Medalist in the V8 at States last year and now loaded with talent from their State Champion Freshman 8, the pressure is on new head coach Dawn Villeya  to get this team to the top of the mountain.

Sarasota Scullers: Dont let the name fool you, this team can sweep. Gold Medalist in the Men and Womens Novice 8 at the Head of the Indian Creek as well as the Womens Varsity 8.

Power 10:  Looking strong in the novice and pair events this scrappy team is gunning for some upsets.

Univesitraio de Regatas from Peru: Loaded with Peruvian Junior National team talent this team will the hubcap award for furthest distance traveled. They will be tough in the small boat events.

Miami Beach Rowing Club: Edgardo and Frankie will be bringing a fast womens novice 8 that struck silver at the Head of the Indian Creek. This growing program is rumored to also have a decent mens lightweight 8, and a speedy Fort Brother Double. Everything else is reportedly top secret....

Union Boat Club Masters of Boston: Led by two time Olympic Silver Medalist Tom Bohrer, this strong masters team is coming down for some sun and fun in the mens masters 8, 4+, 4x, and 2x.

For those coaches are planning on coming please contact me paulm@... so I can keep you up to date on race developments.

For those that can't come this year, think it about it for next year. Duals and Tri's get boring after a while.

All the best,

Paul Mellinger
