Subject: Jr ID Camps

Greetings Coaches, Parents, Athletes and Friends of Junior Women's Rowing -

As we labor indoors with fingers crossed for an early spring, we are beginning make preparations for this year's USRowing Development Camps and Selection Camp!

Female athletes born 1990 or later and with any experience level are encouraged to attend one of the nine identification camps we have set up across the country. There is no prerequisite to attend, they are open to all age eligible athletes (including coxswains) as well as parents and coaches.

At each one-day identification camp, the athletes will be given a presentation on the structure of the Junior Women's system including the Junior National Team, The High Performance Team, Selection Camp, Development Camp for Junior As and Junior Bs, and the Junior B Sculling Camp. The coaches will also present information on training and preparation for high level junior athletes.

After the presentation, there will be an opportunity to do an extended warm-up and a 2000m erg test followed by a session on the water with the national team coaches (weather permitting). The schedule of each identification camp may vary slightly, and will also include a question and answer session with the Junior National Team coaches and, in some locations, an athlete or two from last year's Junior Team.

The identification camps will be held as follows:

Feb 16 - Seattle, WA

Feb 17 - Marin, CA

Feb 24 - Boston, MA (as part of the CRASH-b sprints)

Mar 1 - Conshohocken, PA

Mar 2 - Washington, DC

Mar 9 - DeLand, FL

Mar 15 - Chicago, IL

Mar 16 - Pelham, NY

Mar 30 - Boston, MA

For further information, please see the USRowing website:
