Despite the impression that the course map gives, (use the Florida Turnpike at the bottom of the map for size reference) the turns are wide and sweeping, and will offer coxswains the opportunity to really affect their crew’s time and performance. The 5 straight-a-ways, from 700m-1000m in length, will let your oarsmen open up the stroke ratings for the last race of the season before entering winter training sessions. The closed loop offers parents and relatives a continuous view of their athlete’s boat in a race. (Bring binoculars for the back stretch.) Our Alumni race, with no entry fees, allows crews to collect a boat rental donation from alumni to raise some end of the season funds, and a free coaches’ race to let the kids know YOU STILL GOT IT!
Wrap up your season with a fun local race and come to Turkey Lake for the first annual, pre-Thanksgiving regattas, and answer the question….GOT GIBLETS?
