FW: Question - FSRA State Championship Volunteers   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1667 of 2165 |
Many good questions... here is what I need at the minimum.

1) 5 volunteers at the finish line - either 1/2 day or full day shift (full day shift will get lunch provided to them). Sunday should only be 1/2 day.
2) 8 boat drivers - either 1/2 day or full day shift (full day shift will get lunch provided to them). Sunday should only be 1/2 day.
3) 4 dock masters - either 1/2 day or full day shift (full day shift will get lunch provided to them). Sunday should only be 1/2 day.
4) groups of 6 for a 2 hour stake boat shift (starting with 8am race) for both Saturday and Sunday (approximately 9 groups).
5) a group of 6 for race site parking lot personnel in the morning (6:30 to 8:30am) each Saturday and Sunday.
6) Friday dock set up and Sunday dock break down.

As I receive your teams input (first come, first served getting what you request), I fill out our schedule of jobs.

Each team will fulfill their obligation with any one of the following (you can volunteer more):
- 1 person full day - these will be assigned Saturday at finish line (no experience required) or launch driver (experienced outboard drivers only) or dock master (experience preferred)
- 2 persons 1/2 day - these will be assigned Saturday or Sunday at finish line or launch driver or dock master
- 1 group of 6 for 2 hour shift  - these will be assigned stake boats or parking or dock work

If you are still have questions, please ask.

Remember, volunteers are required by the same deadline as event entries: this Wednesday, April 11, 2007. A schedule of assignments will be sent next week.

Thanks, Brice

Subject: Question - FSRA State Championship Volunteers

Brice,
I am the Race Chair for Lake Brantley and have a few questions regarding volunteers.

  • Do I need 10 volunteers total including the 6 stake boat Volunteers - or do I need 6 hours worth of Stake Boat volunteers and an additional 10 Volunteers?
  • What hours do you need volunteers (stake boats and otherwise) on Sunday?
  • If have a volunteer willing to work both days does that count as two volunteers?
  • How long does the normal shift last (other than the launch drivers and finish line workers)?
  • And just a clarification - I just need to cover a total of 6 hours on stake boats - so I could have one person work 6 hours, two people work 3 hours, 3 people work 2 hours, etc...........just as long as 6 total hours are covered?
  • Should I indicate the preferred day as well as the preferred time when I submit?

Thanks.  Sorry for all the confusion - I just want to make sure I get it right as this is my first time.  Hopefully I will be able to get you more than the required 10.
