Brice:
It seems to me that since the group at the coaches meeting earlier this month based the "resolution" to combine the Scholastic and Youth Championships largely on an interest in "making everyone faster", there would no longer be a need for heats in the JV 4 and 3rd 4 at the Championship regatta. Aren't these particular events only going to be entered by very large programs that have already filled all of the 8's events and need somewhere to race their younger guys? Programs that used to enter V4, JV 4, 3rd 4, etc. without any 8's will now put their top athletes in the V8 - to "make everyone faster", won't they?

Subject: [FSRA] web updates and sample schedule
I have updated the spring regatta schedule page and contact lists. Please continue to email updates especially dual and tri meets.
Per our resolution to combine Scholastic and Youth Champs, I have put together a rough outline of a schedule base on entries from this past season. In the attachment, you will see I used the same start times as the Youth Champs (7 am meetings and 8 am first race). Using tight 6-minute centers and one hour lunch break, racing should be complete by 4:30 pm. I calculated 45 heats and 30 finals for a total of 75 races. Unless someone finds a serious flaw, this is the model we will use to plan for the 2006 state champs. Comments?
Thanks,
